With Tom Brady, the Raiders are hoping for an aggressive approach this season. With Pete Carroll in charge as head coach, the club appears to have a lot of potential. But, they still need to address some important issues. Fixing these holes in the team is a massive challenge for the team’s front office. And their biggest hole right now is a dependable QB. The Raiders have suffered with a QB sized gap, but guess what? Maybe after a thorough debate in meetings, the team finally has one QB they can look forward to.
The NFL Draft is almost upon us, and everything is looking as tempting as it can. Every team is looking forward to receiving the major CFB stars, especially the new young QBs. Names such as Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are widely popular as the two best QBs coming in the draft. But there’s one more name that can be as good as these two. This QB is none other than Louisville’s Tyler Shough. The young player is known for his explosive nature on the field, which has officially drawn Tom Brady’s attention.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to says to keep an eye on the Browns, New York Giants, and Las Vegas Raiders at the top of Round 2.”

Yep! That’s right. Tony Pauline has released new reports that illustrate the hype surrounding Tyler Shough. According to the reporter, Tom Brady is impressed by the superstar, and the team should consider drafting the youngster. While there is no obvious reason why they should not do it, there is a twist in the story. Interestingly, the Raiders face stiff competition in drafting the 25-year-old, as the Steelers and Giants are also interested in drafting Shough.
The reporter stated, “Everyone I’ve spoken to says to keep an eye on the Browns, New York Giants, and Las Vegas Raiders at the top of Round 2.” Tyler Shough‘s tremendous statistics make him a disaster for any team’s defense. Throughout his career, the QB has thrown 7,820 yards for 59 touchdowns, and that too with a 63% completion rate. Shough has the potential to be a game-changer for the Raiders, and Tom Brady can do everything possible to bring him on board. After all, who better can know than Brady what qualities make a great quarterback?
Speculations are that Slough can potentially be drafted in the first round. So we don’t have to wait much after the draft begins to find out what Tom Brady, GM John Spytek, and HC Pete Carroll want to do with the young QB. After all, the team can choose any other best option if that’s available. And Spytek may look forward to this approach because he believes the team’s QB problem has already been fixed.
GM John Spytek can potentially push to avoid QB Tyler Shough despite Tom Brady’s interest
Tom Brady is undoubtedly mentoring the Raiders in his fashion. When the legendary QB came on board to purchase a minority ownership of the team, it was evident that this was about to happen. Brady has altered the team significantly since the 2024 season and intends to make some more modifications. The former QB is seeking to add some new players, but GM John Spytek is pleased with the trades they have made recently. And, yes, we are talking about QB Geno Smith.

Spytek indicated on the Upon Further Review podcast that he wants Smith to be the Raiders’ long-term solution. The GM acknowledged that they got the QB for quite a lot, but it may be worth it. Considering they gave up a late third-round pick, the team surely went overboard in bringing the QB. But for those who don’t know, John Spytek likes the NFL Draft too much. He wants to draft as many players as possible, and giving up a pick indicates that he views Geno Smith as a long-term answer. Smith had a wonderful experience with the Seahawks and may potentially improve the Raiders’ offense. But does this mean the team can avoid QB Tyler Shough? After all, Tom Brady is interested in him, right?
Well, no one can really tell as the GM never spoke about Shough while talking about Smith, “The compensation from a draft-capital standpoint wasn’t so costly. I love my picks more than anybody, and I’ve got to remind Coach Carroll how much I love picks. But, listen, we used a late third-round pick to hopefully have our starting quarterback here for years to come. And it was just too good an opportunity to pass up.”
Does this indicate Geno Smith might become the team’s starting quarterback? But would Tom Brady allow it to happen? Only time will tell; in the meantime, stay tuned for more updates.
