NFL Rumors: Not Matt LaFleur, but 2 NFC West Teams to Pursue Jalen Milroe Despite Green Bay Visit

4 min read

As Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz said in February, this year, “the NFL is being very selective” about who they invite in the draft. So, according to multiple reports, only eight to ten players are considered “all top picks,” who will get the invitation. And Jalen Milroe is one of them!

A couple of days ago, via Draft Analyst Dane Brugler, “Alabama QB Jalen Milroe has accepted an invitation to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay.” Given his exceptional four years, where he recorded 426 of 663 passes (64.3% completion rate) for 6,016 passing yards and 45 touchdowns with 20 interceptions in 38 games (27 starts), the host franchise, Green Bay Packers, is showing interest in him. But as per the latest reports, Matt LaFleur’s team won’t be the home for the QB despite their meeting. Then who will be?

According to NFL Rumors on X, “#Alabama Jalen Milroe could reportedly land with the #Rams or #Seahawks in the late 1st round.” As draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah described him, the 22-year-old is an “elite, elite runner,” who is in the same tier as a runner as Jayden Daniel or Anthony Richardson.

No question, Jalen Milroe is impressive. “His answers,” via reporter Hondo Carpenter, “were tremendous, his knowledge was extremely impressive…In fact, one of the team’s asked Jalen Milroe a series of questions about what he was really good at, and he gave them answers. Then they asked him what he could get better at. And his answer was ‘How much time do you have?’” In the Scout Combine, Milroe proved his intelligence and quickness by answering the questions.

And when he is on the field, he explodes. If NFC West teams, like Seattle and Los Angeles, grabs Jalen Milroe, they’re not just getting a QB – they’re getting a weapon. A straight-up game-changer. They could build an entire option-style offense around him from the jump, no waiting around. Even that 4.4 speed, it’s not just something that looks good on paper. It shows up on tape. And when he cuts? Man, it’s like watching a top-tier running back hit the gas. So, if a coaching staff leans in, gives him the right scheme, and lets him play his style? This kid could be dangerous. He could be a straight-up nightmare for defenses.

The Seahawks have currently brought in Sam Darnold on a three-year deal worth $100.5 million. The Rams, on the other hand, have put faith in Matthew Stafford, as he agreed to a revised contract with the team. So, obviously, the franchises are not in a rush to draft a QB. But given their condition of having veteran starters, it’s quite possible that they would like to draft Jalen Miroe, ruining the plans of Matt LaFleur’s Packers. But what about the quarterback himself?

Jalen Milroe has one clarification to put before the interested teams!

Jalen Milroe is getting attention, it seems! After the Packers showed interest in the quarterback, and the Browns met with Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, the 22YO is now scheduled to visit the Giants, besides the Rams and Seahawks. However, whichever team drafts him in the first round, Milroe has one clarification to put forth for all.

During the NFL Scouting Combine in March, Jalen Milroe was asked on which team he would like to go and what his plans are. To which the young QB said, “I’m not someone to try to be a savior. I’m someone that’s just trying to better a program as a whole. So it’s all about opportunity. I would love to seize that opportunity as well and grow as a player.”

Jalen Milroe didn’t show up at Alabama to save the place. That’s not how Bama works. Not when Nick Saban was still calling the shots. He came in, learned the system, and found his role. But the NFL? That’s a whole different story. If he lands somewhere like Cleveland, things change. That fanbase? They’ve been waiting, hoping, desperate for a QB they can believe in. So even if Milroe doesn’t come in trying to be a Messiah, the expectations might still land on his shoulders. Maybe not day one. But soon. However, the first thing to look for is which team he lands in.
