NFL Draft Rumors: Ohio State RB Overtakes Ashton Jeanty With Viral Workout as Ben Johnson’s Bears to Pass on Top Prospect

4 min read

The number 1 RB prospect in the 2025 Draft, Ashton Jeanty, has a funny history. His father is 5-foot-8. But all his uncles are taller than 6 feet. Similarly, his mother is also 5″6′. But his maternal uncles are also taller than 6 feet. And Jeanty? As a budding football player, he was 5″9′. But there was a way out. And he found it while living in Naples, Italy, with his parents.

Work out in the gym! He ignored all his friends and focused on those exercise regimens, resulting in his superhuman strength.

However, he faces a different challenge now. Enter Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins. His video on X showed him working out. His bulging arms sent waves of craziness through the league. It forced the analysts to predict that Judkins could be the RB 1 in the draft. But is he better than Ashton Jeanty?

If we compare physical measurements alone, Judkins has an advantage over Jeanty. The Ohio State running back stands 6 feet tall and weighs 221 pounds, while the Boise State RB is 5-foot-9 and weighs 211 pounds. This suggests that Judkins is more powerful. However, strength doesn’t always translate to success on the field.

In 40 games (26 starts), Ashton Jeanty has recorded 750 rushes for 4,769 yards and 50 touchdowns. Judkins, in 42 games (27 starts), has tallied 739 rushes for 3,785 yards and 45 touchdowns. Statistically, the Boise State RB has outperformed him. Not to mention, his compact frame helps him generate impressive speed.

Boise State’s director of sports performance, Benjamin Hilgart, revealed that Jeanty ran at 21.5 mph at the fall camp. Compare this to the fastest runner in the US, Olympian Noah Lyles, who has a top-recorded speed of 22.8 mph. So, he is fast. It would be interesting to see the competition in the NFL.

We could say he would compete with Chiefs’ WR Xavier Worthy and Dolphins’ WR Tyreek Hill, who are known for their speed. The fans love the competition. Amid the drama, more news is emerging from insiders — and it’s surprising!

Ashton Jeanty might get passed as a top pick in the 2025 draft

Last year, the Chicago Bears had the first pick in the 2025 draft, and they drafted the QB Caleb Williams. After all the hype and fanbase rallying behind the rookie, the end results were poor. Their 2024 season, sulking with a 5-12 win-loss record. So, the Bears front office was under pressure to sign RB Ashton Jeanty in the draft.

However, according to the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs, the NFC North franchise has other plans in the draft. He cited an insider who claimed LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell as the first-round pick. GM Ryan Poles might be more interested in the QB protection than giving him scoring players. It would be a shocker for many!

Biggs wrote, “If arm length weren’t an issue — Campbell measured 32 5/8 inches at the scouting combine — he would be a top-five pick. It’s a fair concern, but plenty of very good left tackles have excelled without ideal arm length (34 inches or longer). The Bears can plug in Campbell at left tackle, and if it proves to be a problem down the road, he always could be an interior anchor.” This could very well happen in the coming days.

The 6″6′, 319 pounds tackle is well built and can protect the signal caller. The Bears would also gain huge momentum with Ashton Jeanty in the lineup. But things will change every day as we move towards the draft. Brace yourselves for more changes.
