2 min read

After five straight losses, Brand Marchand‘s Boston Bruins clinched the victory in today’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game ended 3-2 in their favor, yet all was not well as Marchand himself had to leave the ice after suffering a hit by Pierre-Olivier Joseph. Naturally, NHL fans were concerned when they saw the 36-year-old writhing in pain after the hit.

The incident took place just 5:56 minutes into the game. Pierre-Olivier Joseph had got his stick stuck in Marchand’s skates before the awkward collision sent Marchand shoulder-first into the corner board.

A worried fan had to make sure he was good, by commenting, “Hit the boards awkwardly. Hope he’ll be alright.” “What a shame .My hearts breaking,” wrote another fan in the same vein. Even Marchand’s critics were left worried, as one of them wrote, “He’s not one of my favorite people but I hope he’s ok.”
