Making her way into her own successful restaurant and coffee shop, Molly McCann, in her own words, emphasized that she could have walked away from the world of fighting happily. However, she chose to fight one last time to show the world that ‘MeatBall’ is made of something else. With a career spanning seven years, McCann became the first Englishwoman to secure victory inside the Octagon. Now, as she departs from the world of fighting, her close friend Paddy Pimblett has come forward with a heartfelt message that could melt even the coldest of hearts.

McCann shared the stage against much younger Alexia Thainara, who was debuting. ‘Meatball’ expected a victory from her, however, Thainara came strong and defeated her by submission. After the defeat, ‘Meatball’ decided it was time for her to hang up the gloves. In an emotional retreat that left Paddy Pimblett crying, she said, “Thank you and good night, UFC,” McCann said. “UFC, Dana, Gunther, Mick, f—– hell, all of you. I started this sport at 24, I walked into that gym with these three boys and I have given you all my f—–heart and soul.”

Following her retirement speech, Paddy Pimblett took to his Instagram handle to add a photo of them together and captioned it with a long message thanking McCann for her assistance in his journey, “Heartbreaking night last night watching my big sister retire. Been there with her from the start and will always be there this may be the end of her fighting career but it’s far from the end of mine and her friendship.”

She further added, “That’s till death do us part UKMMA women’s legend first English woman to get a win in the UFC and has one of the best knockouts in women’s UFC and combat sports history her legacy will live on forever emotional isn’t even the word for last night but even when I was crying the meatball” Reacting to Pimblett’s comment, Molly McCann took to the comment section to console her friend, “Love you pad thank you for being you.”

Their paths first intertwined during a training session in 2013, forging a bond that has fueled each other’s journeys ever since. ‘Baddy’ and ‘MeatBall’ are both the students of Next Generation MMA Liverpool, which is a UK-based camp of MMA. They are often seen enjoying themselves in the camp and it might be hard for Pimblett to witness McCann’s retirement.

The Britisher will be fighting Michael Chandler at UFC 314 and Molly McCann might not be at his side this time due to her retirement. However, this will not stop him from securing the victory against Chandler as veterans have come forward to assess the fight.

Charles Oliveira gave their thoughts on Michael Chandler’s chances against Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett is yet to suffer a defeat under the UFC banner and is currently on a six-fight winning streak. In contrast, Michael Chandler is on a two-fight losing streak. However, it must be noted that the level of competition was much different. While ‘The Baddy’ fought low-level fighters, Chandler clashed against the likes of Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and many more.

So, shall we consider that Chandler has an upper hand? Tom Aspinall and Charles Oliveira have come forward to answer this. While having a conversation with online sportsbook Oddspedia, Oliveira emphasized, “In the first two rounds, Chandler has a chance to knock him out because of how explosive he is. But if the fight goes into the third round, I believe it’s going to be hard for Chandler because Paddy is younger, and he’s very talented.”

Paddy Pimblett is known to take his opponents into the deep waters. His last clash against King Green witnessed an amazing show of jiu-jitsu as he submitted his opponent by way of a triangular choke. Well, Oliveira is not the only one who believes that Chandler might have a hard time against ‘The Baddy.’

Well, as both the fighters prepare to clash with each other at UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett might have a better chance to secure the victory if he keeps his composure against Chandler. Given that, what are your thoughts on the hubbub? State your opinion in the comments below.
