The highly anticipated Tokyo will start on Tuesday, March 18, and the excitement is at an all-time high as Japanese celebrities like Shohei Ohtani are making their way to Japan. But it’s not just him; there’s Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, and even Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who has made a comeback to where he was born. The reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers are ready to take their first step in defending their title. It doesn’t happen as many times that a game in Japan has drawn this kind of response from the fans.

But it’s definitely a privilege for them to watch their homegrown players take on the field. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs will meet on Opening Day on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:10 a.m. ET. The 2025 season will begin at the Tokyo Dome, and one can watch the game on TV channels, including Fox and FS1. It can also be watched on MARQ. The game will also be available for viewing on Marquee Sports Network, SportsNet LA, and even MLB.TV. Dodgers Radio AM 570 and KTNQ 1020 AM will also air the game, giving constant updates and scores during the game.

MLB’s desire to expand internationally is well known, and the Tokyo Series might open up new avenues for doing so. The previous regular-season MLB series happened in Mexico, England, Puerto Rico, and South Korea, and now it’s baseball in Japan. With astounding Japanese star power in MLB, not just because of Shohei Ohtani, the game will surely influence more young talent to come out of Japan in the upcoming years. So, what’s the possible lineup and schedule?

Possible lineup and schedule for the Dodgers vs. Cubs clash

Although the lineup is yet to be decided, Dodgers Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Cubs’ Shota Imanaga will face each other as starting pitchers on Tuesday on Opening Day. ” However, there’s never a doubt around Shohei Ohtani playing the game, as he hit 54 home runs last season and had a.310 average. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Teoscar Hernandez will also be on the roster. Then there’s Tommy Edman at second base, Max Muncy at third base, Will Smith, Michael Conforto in left field, Miguel Rojas, and Andy Pages.

The Chicago Cubs, on the other hand, would likely go with Nico Hoerner, who had a.273 average and posted 35 doubles, one triple, and seven home runs too. Then, they have Ian Happ, Kyle Tucker, Seiya Suzuki, and Matt Shaw at third base. But that’s not all. They might also include Dansby Swanson, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Miguel, and Jon Berti, who can play second base. Now coming to the schedule, the Chicago Cubs have played against the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants on March 14 and 16, respectively.

The Los Angeles Dodgers played against the Giants and Tigers on the same day on March 15, one at 6 a.m. ET and the second one at 11 p.m. ET. The Dodgers will play the Chicago Cubs at 6 a.m. ET on March 18 in the main event. The Dodgers will play another game on Wednesday, March 19, the following day.
