In the ongoing 2025 season, the Rockies have found themselves in an all-too-familiar position – at the bottom of the NL West standings. With a dismal 12-50 record, they’ve become the league’s punching bag, struggling in nearly every facet of the game. But even in the darkest of times, the All-Star Game remains a ray of hope for them.
Despite their on-field woes, the Rockies are determined not to be left out entirely when the game’s brightest stars gather in Atlanta on July 15. So, the franchise is already campaigning to ensure at least one of their top performers earns a well-deserved trip to the Midsummer Classic. Well, you can imagine how it can trigger the fans, considering they are done with the team’s poor performances this season.
The story started on Wednesday. The Rockies took to X to announce that fan voting for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game was officially underway. Hoping to rally support despite their dismal record, the team shared a promotional graphic with the message: “Get Our Rockies to Atlanta.” However, the campaign was met with some funny takes from fans online.

The Rockies haven’t had a winning season since 2018, which also marks their last trip to the postseason. Since 2019, no team in MLB has had a worse overall record than the Rockies, a reflection of years of instability and underperformance. Their most recent postseason series win, excluding the 2018 Wild Card Game, dates back to the 2007 NLCS. That year, they made a stunning run to the World Series.
However, since then, it’s been a long, painful drought for fans in Colorado.
This year, not even the biggest Rockies’ fans are expecting anyone from the team to be in the All-Star Game. But hey, we don’t know when a team can make a comeback. The Rockies have just swept the Marlins in a 3-game series.
If you remember, the last time the Rockies recorded a series sweep was on May 15, 2024. They took down the Padres during a rare seven-game win streak last year.
Now with a series win over the Marlins, they have injected a dose of optimism into an otherwise bleak season. Is that enough to bring back the fans? Well, considering the social media vibe, it is not an easy task.
Fans are finding the Rockies’ All-Star post funny
Countering the All-Star post by the Rockies, fans came up with funny perspectives. “We should collectively come together as fans of all different fan bases and make sure the entire NL All Star team is made up of only Colorado Rockies. Would be even better than the Reddit Gamestop stock thing,” wrote a fan.
So, how will it be if the entire NL All-Star team comprises only the Rockies players? Moreover, is it possible to influence the All-Star voting process, just like what Reddit users did with Gamestop stock prices back in 2021? If you remember, Reddit users intentionally increased the stock value of GameStop when they found it undervalued. But that’s not really possible with the All-Star voting process. That was an impractical take but funny nonetheless!
One fan posted the All-star line-up he voted for and wrote, “These are the teams THE PEOPLE want.” Well, it was an interesting line-up. Why? Because it only had the Rockies and the White Sox players.

The White Sox have probably been on par with the Rockies in terms of performance this season. They are doing the same in the AL that the Rockies are doing in the NL. Chicago is currently sitting with a 19-43 record in the AL Central. That’s quite comparable to the Rockies’ 12-50 record. So, the fan took the funniest route to declare the probable NL and AL All-Star team. He made it a game between the White Sox and Rockies!
“A.L. fans should stuff the ballot with all Rockies players,” one netizen wrote. If you check, a lot of baseball fans are calling for the entire Rockies lineup in the All-Star. The Rockies’ performance this season is such that even their own fans are trolling them.
“We need the Russians to rig this election and do the funniest thing ever,” quipped another fan. This was also a call to put all the Rockies players in the NL All-Star! But this time, the fan took a political turn. It has been a subject of much controversy whether the Russians influenced the American Presidential election in 2016. There’s no evidence to suggest they did. But this fan wants All-Star voting to be influenced for sure. Funny to say the least!
However, not all the fans posted funny reactions. There were some rational takes as well. “Let’s send Goodman to the All-Star game,” wrote a fan. The Rockies have two emerging bright spots at the moment – Hunter Goodman and Jordan Beck. They stand out as the only qualified hitters on the roster with an OPS north of .700. There’s growing sentiment among the fans that one of them should be considered for a spot in Atlanta.
Nevertheless, it’s unique to see the fans trolling the home team for the All-Star game. It’s a wake-up call for the Rockies’ front office to take note and come back bigger and better next year.
