Looks like the Bucks are joining in on the fun! With the 5th seed in the East locked in, Milwaukee’s pretty much put up the ‘do not disturb’ sign. Almost 80% of their roster is listed as doubtful for today’s game against the Detroit Pistons. Now the question is — should we be worried? Or is this just a smart move before the playoffs? We’ll get into that in a bit.
But first, we gotta talk about Giannis Antetokounmpo. The one’s been ravaging lately. In the last game against the Pistons, he dropped his 11th triple-double of the season — 32 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds. When Giannis gets going like that, it’s game over. The Pistons kept it close, though, but after the 7:53 mark in the 4th quarter, they just couldn’t hang on. The Bucks took it 125-119.
Now, with a 7-game win streak going and the playoffs around the corner, seeing so many names on the injury list is… a little unusual. Sure, resting your stars makes sense — they want to be at full strength when the real games begin. You know how they met their playoffs end last season. But when you’re down to just five active players? That’s kinda crazy.
Let’s take a look at probably the longest injury report the Bucks have had all season.
Bucks’ injury report ahead of their clash against the Pistons
Once again, let’s start with the guy in the lead— Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s listed as doubtful with a shoulder issue, and honestly, no one’s shocked. He’s been carrying a massive load lately, and with the seeding locked in, there’s no point risking him.
Damian Lillard is also out. He’s been doing some light running and shooting drills, which is encouraging, but he’s not quite ready yet. That calf is still a concern — and if the Bucks want a real shot at making noise in the East, Dame’s got to be 100%.

Then you’ve got Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis, both ruled out for rest. No injuries here, just a classic case of “we’ll see you in the playoffs.” Hard to argue with that approach, but man, the lineup is looking thin.
AJ Green? Doubtful with a shoulder sprain. Again, it adds to the growing list of absentees.
Gary Trent Jr., Kevin Porter Jr., and Taurean Prince — all doubtful. Trent’s dealing with a knee, Porter has a wrist issue, and Prince is managing a knee tendon thing. That’s a whole lot of perimeter help that probably won’t suit up.
The only two guys with a real shot at playing? Ryan Rollins and Kyle Kuzma, both listed as probable. Rollins is managing a shoulder injury, and Kuzma’s on ankle watch. Even if they do play, it’s hard to imagine them going full tilt.
So yeah, this isn’t just a light rest day — the Bucks are practically waving the white flag for this one. Whether it’s a calculated move or just the reality of an 82-game grind, this might be one of the most depleted rosters we’ve seen hit the court this season.
Bucks depth chart vs Detriot Pistons
With most of the regular rotation either resting or nursing injuries, the Bucks’ lineup for tonight looks more like a Summer League squad than a playoff-bound team. Here’s a quick look at how the depth chart shapes up — featuring mostly day-to-day guys, some deep-bench names, and a whole lot of question marks.

At the end of the day, this matchup isn’t about wins or losses — it’s about survival and strategy. The Bucks have their eyes locked on the bigger picture, and tonight’s game is just a pit stop on the road to the playoffs. Whether they roll out five guys or drag in someone from the locker room staff to fill a spot, it’s clear that Milwaukee’s playing the long game. And honestly, in a league where one injury can flip a season, can you blame them?
