What was an iconic celebratory year for Michael Jordan turned out to be one filled with controversy. It was supposed to be the 40th anniversary celebration of the launch of the Air Jordan brand in February, but the headlines dominated his son’s issues. Marcus Jordan’s arrest and subsequent DUI charge were a situation that the family had to go through. But the youngest son of MJ made a stunning revelation a few weeks ago as he continues to move past that chapter.

The People reported the 34-year-old “acknowledges that he needs help to overcome the challenges of his alcohol/substance use and is amenable to treatment.” Furthermore, the court documents stated Marcus wants to become a “responsible, d—-free, and productive member of the community.” In order to overcome his problem, the report also mentioned, “His participation in the Pre-Trial Substance Abuse Education and Treatment Intervention Program will not only benefit him personally but also serve the community by reducing the likelihood of future offenses.”

Weeks ago, his Instagram story indicated that he is working towards the goal. After uploading stories about his golfing adventure at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Marcus Jordan wrote “40 days sober & counting… .” This comes two months after the report from People about his substance issue. He shared the news with his 173k Instagram followers, also added two stickers of ‘loading bar’ and ‘in progress’ again, signifying his action of getting better. Continuing on that path, MJ’s son recently added another story.

Accompanying him to watch the crystal blue waters and breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea were his cousins. They even flew out in style thanks to Michael Jordan’s $61.5 million customized private jet. The jet in the story is MJ’s first jet, a Gulfstream G550, which was bought in 2016.

Initially painted in North Carolina Tar Heels colors, it now rocks a bold elephant print inspired by Air Jordans, complete with the iconic Jumpman logo on the tail. Even last year, the extended family did a similar trip after Marcus Jordan’s breakup with Larsa Pippen.

After Valentine’s Day, the former couple Marcus and Larsa Pippen called it quits. Their relationship also dominated headlines, as Larsa was Michael Jordan’s teammate’s ex-wife. Once the relationship was over, Marcus needed a getaway trip, and his cousins showed up. It was in June last year, as the 34-year-old added the caption to his IG story.

The trip continued to Scape Park, where the cousins were seen engaging in outdoor activities. Marcus was sitting beside Justin Jordan for the off-roading experience on an adventure buggy. Following them were Dominique & Jamie Ramona Jordan. Later on Day 3, he also had golfing experience with his elder brother, Jeffrey Jordan. After public scrutiny, Michael Jordan’s son seems to make the right choices, and supporting him is his family.
