Miami Open: American Legend Serena Williams Makes Headlines With a Surprise Appearance During Novak Djokovic’s Showdown

One might be able to take away the competition out of the box for a passionate player, but ridding them of their love for the sport is a different thing altogether. Quite similar to when Serena Williams called time on her career at the US Open in 2022 and still readily made herself available to watch some of the best active talents on the tour clash during the New York Slam last year. Having shared a deep history with the sport and earned high praise from her counterparts, the American icon recently arrived for the Miami Open. And, to much surprise, Serbian icon Novak Djokovic prompted her attention, just like any other fan on the South Side.

Reports show us that Williams was seated courtside to watch Nole take on Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth round of the Miami Open on Wednesday, March 26. Moreover, she wasn’t the only star player gracing the sidelines. Notably, Djokovic’s newest coach and 3-time Slam winner Andy Murray also spectated the high-octane contest.
