Presumably the New York Mets’ $341 All-Star might have never thought of facing such a question. But, well, just like unexpected things happen in baseball, it’s too difficult to avoid such questions, especially from someone too special. Now that the Mets won against the Dodgers by 3-1, we guess he won’t have any problem answering anything that is asked.
Any guesses who the surprise guest is?
Well, during the interview with Francisco Lindor on “Sunday Night Baseball”, something special happened. He was playing defense, when broadcasters announced there’s a special guest who wants to ask him a question. And surprise, surprise, it was his wife, Katia Reguero.
For Francisco Lindor, it wasn’t just a surprise; it was rather an awkward situation to be in. However, soon after exchanging greetings, Katia Reguero asked him, “What is more difficult, playing double defense or changing diapers at 4 a.m.?” Gosh! Can you believe something like this is coming?
Well, sort of. But yes, it definitely injects a little bit of humor during the broadcast. Francisco Lindor and Katia Reguero became parents to a little girl named Kalina on November 4, 2020. They had their second child, another girl, Amapola Chloé, who was born in June 2023. Bursting into laughter with such a question, Lindor said, “I’ve been playing double play defense for 25 years and I’ve been changing diapers for four and a half years.”
As the game continued, there were moments of pause; however, as Max Muncy of the Dodgers made a hit, Senga Kodaly was quick enough to handle it. Now coming back to the topic, Lindor answered that it’s more difficult to change diapers at 4 a.m. Talking about his fatherly duties, Katia praised her husband as a wonderful person who took his time whenever he could, although there were times when Katia struggled a bit taking care of the children while Lindor was busy playing defense for his team.
But still, if we set everything aside, it still gives us immense joy when a player, busy playing for his team, is given a chance to connect with his special ones, be it on the field or on air. However, this has been quite a week for the New York Mets star. Be it the controversy or the celebration, it was an emotional week for him and his wife didn’t hesitate to drop a heartfelt message for her husband.
Mets $341M All-Star’s wife shares a heartfelt message after achieving unique milestone
This week saw it all! Talk about Francisco Lindor’s heated exchange of words with Walker Buehler during the game series between the Mets and the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Buehler thought about him leaning onto the pitch. And right in the next pitch, Lindor managed to steal a second and that ignited chaos on the field. But soon, Lindor had the final laugh as Buehler was tossed out.
But what made the day special was Francisco Lindor being honored for achieving a special milestone—playing for ten years in Major League Baseball and winning the Silver Slugger award for the fourth time in his career. His wife, Katia Reguero, was quick enough to post a picture captioning, “Elite athlete, elite dad, elite human. So proud of you! Celebrating your fourth Silver Slugger Award and your incredible 10-year MLB milestone—your dedication and heart continue to inspire us all.”
Not to forget that Katia has remained by her husband’s side all the time, in his highs and lows. And there’s no denying that Lindor has been doing great for the team and, at the same time, making his family feel proud, too. The couple has been quite transparent across social media and we hope to see more special moments. They had their third child, a son named Koa Amani, born in March 2025. And we cannot wait to see the family of five more often once Lindor gets to reunite with his wife and kids.
