“Make You Bleed”- Maycee Barber Makes a Dark Confession on Erin Blanchfield Amid Fight Cancellation Beef

4 min read

“Yeah, I’m a little worried because Maycee has a history of pulling out of fights quite frequently. There’s always some concern, but honestly, that could happen with anyone.” Erin Blanchfield couldn’t back down while talking about Maycee Barber’s uncertainty, even though she pulled out of only two fights in the past. To make things worse, ‘The Future’ also went on a long hiatus. And as expected, Blanchfield’s comments didn’t sit well with Barber.

Reacting to ‘Cold Blooded’s comments regarding pullouts and fight cancellations, Barber showed nothing but confidence. Of course, according to Barber, the #4 flyweight contender’s words about her pullouts were pretty dumb. During a conversation with Ariel Helwani on his YouTube talk show, Barber lashed out at Blanchfield. She defended herself, claiming that ‘Cold Blooded’ could never really talk badly about her style or marketability. However, when it came to fighting style, Barber had a lot to say about her opponent.

She said, “That’s the only thing she can say about me, is that she thinks I might not show up to the fight. Her fighting style is terrible, there’s a lot of things you can say about Erin Blanchfield, she’s a boring fighter and she has a terrible style.” This was fairly reflected in both of their MMA records. Blanchfield finished just 6 fights out of the total 13 wins. Meanwhile, Barber won 8 fights via KO/TKO and submissions.

And now, Barber lashed back at her opponent yet again at the pre-fight press conference for UFC Vegas 107. She told the reporters, “I think Erin is a one-dimensional fighter. And I think I’ve made that pretty known. She has her grappling, and she has her wrestling ability. But really, aside from that, I don’t think she’s a great striker. She’s not a finisher, and she’s not a dangerous fighter. She had some submission wins, but what makes me dangerous compared to her is like I go out there to hurt you. I go out there to make you bleed. And I think that’s what’s gonna be my advantage. And I don’t care where the fight goes, whether it’s on the standing, or on the ground, I’m going to finish Erin Blanchfield.”

The heat between the flyweights is certainly pretty strong. And neither Barber nor Blanchfield is backing off from trash talk. But do you know what ‘Cold Blooded’ had to say about Barber calling her a boring fighter? Let’s find out!

Erin Blanchfield hits back at Maycee Barber for her comments on her fighting style

During the pre-fight press conference for UFC Vegas 107, Blanchfield said, “Most of the time, I feel like I brush it off. People have got to say what they’ve got to say. I know who I am as a fighter, and I know I’m well-rounded. Maycee’s a pretty aggressive fighter. A lot of forward pressure. Big hooks. This is her first five-rounder, so I could see her possibly being a little more reserved, but I think that’s going to come out of her at some point.”

Needless to say, the New Jersey-born flyweight contender had all things positive regarding her game plan. And she does intend to claim a victory against Barber in an impressive fashion. But what’s her intention after that? Well, Blanchfield put the target on Valentina Shevchenko next. No doubt, Shevchenko is considered a legend in the flyweight realm. And being the flyweight champion, she is definitely the perfect target for the winner of Barber vs. Blanchfield.

While ‘Cold Blooded’ plans to claim the win, ‘The Future’ expressed her desire to hurt Blanchfield. She stated that she planned to make her opponent bleed a lot. And that might just be possible if Blanchfield lets Barber execute her strong strikes perfectly. But when on the ground, Blanchfield might have the upper hand. But we’ve got to wait for Saturday night to know the outcome of the bout.

What do you think of Barber and Blanchfield’s fighting styles? Who do you think would win at UFC Vegas 107? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
