Kevin Durant’s been called many things — scorer, hooper, MVP, burner account king, but Magic Johnson just added another label: “Laker…?” In a post congratulating Durant on winning the Magic Johnson Award, Magic laid it on thick, praising KD’s game, his character, his community work, and even his love for the Commanders. But then came the plot: “I wish he was a Laker! lol ”
That one line was all it took to send Lakers fans into an outburst. Magic may not run the front office anymore, but let’s not pretend his words don’t echo in Rob Pelinka’s ears. Durant is still under contract in Phoenix, but with the Suns reeling and rumors swirling about trading Austin Reaves, the timing of Magic’s tweet is…interesting.

Was it just admiration? Or a little public manifestation? One thing for sure? In L.A., fantasy can become an agenda real quick. And if KD ever gets the itch to move again, Magic’s tweet might age like a fine bottle of purple-and-gold prophecy.
