It took four games, but Laker Nation finally got a glimpse of the famous Luka Magic. Yes, the hoop community had begun doubting Doncic’s talent as he struggled in his first three appearances for the Lakers, even wondering if Nico Harrison was right to let the superstar go. But the Slovenian Sensation cleared all doubts tonight as he dropped a 32-point double-double to lead his team to victory against the mighty Nuggets. Moreover, his chemistry with LeBron James looked top notch as they created several easy buckets for each other. But turns out, Luka is not satisfied with his new running mate!
During the postgame interview after tonight’s win, Doncic admitted that his chemistry with LBJ could be a lot better, “I think we still got a lot of improvement. I just can’t play, this is my fourth game, so you know chemistry takes time.” As great as Luka looked tonight, he still needs some time to completely adjust to the new Lakers environment following his sudden 1,435 miles move from Dallas to LA.
But he is optimistic about finding his groove with LeBron and the rest of the crew, “You see today after three games, you saw today that it’s getting better. So, every day it’s gonna get better.” Even tonight, Luka dished out some insane passes to King James, which resulted in some highlight dunks. And that’s what the fans want to see from the duo on a nightly basis.
Well, Luka was surely happy with his performance tonight as he had a huge smile on his face throughout the game. He even addressed it after the game, “Finally felt like myself a little bit you know… That’s why I was smiling the whole game.” Of course, the trade came as a huge shock to him and impacted him emotionally. He said the last few weeks have been “Hard. Different.” So, its great to finally see him smiling again, as he remarked, “I am happy to be playing basketball. So, like I said, everything’s going to get better to me. I’m happy to be here. Playing with these guys it’s been incredible, so I’m happy for the new journey.”
