Since Luka Doncic’s arrival to the Lakers, media has constantly bombarded him with questions about his chemistry with LeBron James and Austin Reaves. Well, the concern is understandable because the trio has not played many games together due to their injury woes. But it looks like the Slovenian star has had enough of the inquiry. After tonight’s brutal loss in Chicago, Doncic called out the media for sounding like a broken record.
When asked if there was a sense of encouragement to see Reaves drop 30 points alongside him and LeBron, initially Luka had a subtle response, “Yeah, I mean he’s great every game. Just we gotta figure out how to play all three together.” Then, he dropped the hammer, “You guys ask me this question every game after every game.”
Reiterating his point, Luka said, “We’re just trying to figure out. We don’t have a lot of practice but I think it’s coming.” In their 12 appearances together before tonight, the Luka-LeBron-Austin trio had a -6.3 net rating. Of course, their three best players not gelling well together is not a good sign for the Lakers this close to the playoffs. The media pressuring them constantly with the questions doesn’t make the situation any better.
