The thing is, Justin Thomas and Bud Cauley go way back. So, when the golfer raised his hand and said there’s one golfer he wants to see win at TPC Sawgrass more than anyone else, we weren’t surprised he said Cauley’s name because he still has “a lot of golf left.” It makes sense. Cauley suffered a number of serious injuries in a horrendous car crash back in 2018. Consequently, it was followed up with a series of surgeries and setbacks to get him playing again. And now he’s here, playing at The PLAYERS Championship, as one of the strongest golfers on the greens. So, what impresses Thomas the most about Cauley?
“I mean, his game is — he’s such a good player. I think it would be a crime if he doesn’t win at some point in his career. He’s one of those kind of — he’s just got that much game. Obviously I think the world of him. He’s one of the funniest, best dudes I know. Man, he’s just been through a lot. He’s had a lot of injuries and just battled a lot of ups and downs and just craziness.”
