LeBron James has built his legacy from scratch, and his greatness has extended far beyond the basketball court over the past two decades. His influence has even reached the tennis court. If you’re a devoted follower of the 40-year-old, you’re probably aware that he has inspired tennis sensation Mirra Andreeva. After her WTA 1000 championship victory, she credited LeBron’s words as a major source of motivation. But, LeBron being LeBron, he refused to take any credit.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of LeBron James interviews,” Mirra said in an interview. Disclosing the inspirational words that stayed in her mind, she added, “He said that, ‘It’s easy to be confident and to play good when everything goes your way, but what makes you a champion is when you’re giving your best when you don’t feel great’. So that’s what I tried to do today.”
When LeBron heard that, he immediately posted a story on Instagram. He wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Happy to have helped but honestly YOU did THAT!! All your hard work, drive and dedication towards your craft! KEEP GOING! #striveforgreatness” He ended the heartfelt message with a string of folded hand emojis along with a trophy and medal.
This is a developing story…
