Well, no one seems to be willing to face the Japanese superstar, Shohei Ohtani, even in their wildest dreams, right? But guess what, you cannot deny the fact that Shohei Ohtani, despite not pitching, has been in red-hot form. He has already posted 18 home runs, with 32 RBIs, batting at an average of .295 with a .388 OBP and a 1.026 OPS. Now that the Dodgers superstar hit a massive 411-foot homer when he saw the 32-year-old Mets pitcher, Kodai Senga opens up on his face-off with Ohtani.
The New York Mets secured a 3-1 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. While pressure was mounting on the Mets, the result certainly silenced some of the critics who didn’t stop criticizing the Mets earlier. Although they were going through some rough times, the Mets finally managed to bounce back. However, the response of Kodai Senga after the faceoff was something that many didn’t expect.
Guess what it is.
Well, Mets beat reporter Anthony DiComo asked Senga whether he likes facing Shohei Ohtani in the competition. And as expected, he responded with a laugh, followed by a statement: “It’s not fun,” said through an interpreter. During the first inning, Shohei Ohtani made a statement quite early in the game as he launched a home run to the right-center field. But unfortunately, it was the only run that the Mets managed to score on Sunday.

All eyes were on the two beloved Japanese stars, Kodai Senga and Shohei Ohtani. While Ohtani excelled during the game, Kodai Senga wasn’t left far behind either. Despite the early blow after getting hit by Ohtani for a homer, Senga managed to dominate the rest of the game. He threw pitches for 5.1 innings, allowing only five hits and one earned run while striking out five batters.
Definitely praiseworthy, isn’t it?
The Mets’ win not only broke the Dodgers’ three consecutive series-winning track record but also showed everyone what they are capable of. Despite the statement that Kodai Senga made, he still holds a 5-3 record, which is massive. He is also leading the charts at the moment with a 1.46 ERA. Perhaps one of the best arms in the National League this season?
And if he continues like this, for sure, the Mets will be a strong force to reckon with.
New York Mets’ rotation are getting into the sync at the right moment
For quite some time, the New York Mets were struggling to find their rhythm. Blame it on their superstar, Juan Soto’s struggles this season or the injuries. However, it looks like the Mets’ rotation has finally stepped up despite their lineup being marred by injuries. Their pitcher, Frankie Montas, got injured, leaving a gap in their pitching roster.
However, after their win against the Dodgers, their pitching staff, led by Kodai Senga, has been going at a 2.81 ERA. Not exceptional, though; however, considering the number of injuries that affected their bullpen and rotation, it’s more than enough. Don’t you think so?
Well, if we talk about Senga, he has been impressive. He has gone 5-3 and with a 1.46 ERA, he has positioned himself as one of the best pitchers currently in MLB. However, it’s not just the pitching that we should be boasting of. Rather, it’s also the Mets’ offense that has shown some improvements. The New York offense managed to score four runs, well supported by the starter and that was it.
Now with the momentum going in the Mets’ favor, they would like to utilize most of it and focus on what they can do when they face the Chicago White Sox on Monday.
