This Friday, Welcome to Pre Game dropped a new video on their YouTube channel where she chatted about dreams. She also opened up about her NBA athlete ex and gave fans some real talk about dream reality checks. Kayla said, “Every dream has a blueprint.” She reminisced about a time back in college when she and her boyfriend were just hanging out in their dorm, talking about their aspirations, “ You know, being young and in love and he was telling me how he wants to be in the NBA and not wants to be, he’s going to be in the NBA. But in his mind, his dreams were attainable.”
But Kayla? She showed incredible determination, too. She shared, “Whereas my dreams—you know I’m a journalism major—I dream of becoming the next Oprah. I remember it clearly; I’m telling him, like, ‘Yeah, you know, I’m going to intern at TMZ,’ which I ended up doing, by the way. I’m going to intern at Open Wary Network, which I ended up doing, by the way, but I’m going to do all the right things and I’m gonna get to my dream job in X amount of years because I’m following the blueprint.” Now, this brings up some interesting questions about dreams.
But the same ex-boyfriend also hit Kayla with some harsh reality checks when he said, “I’m doing what they’re telling me to do. I’m doing everything. I remember him looking me dead in my face and telling me it’s not that simple. It’s not that simple, and it’s not going to happen.” Like, seriously, how rude is that? Kayla thought it was super harsh, too. But it wasn’t just about breaking her heart! It was all about breaking her dreams!
