Just One Week Before His Fight, Canelo Alvarez Moved by Wife’s Heartfelt Message About Fifth Child

4 min read

It looks like Canelo Alvarez is going to have an unforgettable week. On May 3rd, he will have the chance to reclaim his undisputed status in the super middleweight division when he fights the IBF champion William Scull, a bout where he is a clear favorite.

However, just before this pivotal fight, his wife, Fernanda Gomez, thrilled fans with joyous news. In a touching Instagram post, she announced that the couple is going to be parents for the second time. Her tender message struck a chord with Cinnamon, as they shared this cherished moment with the world, with Canelo set to become a father for the fifth time.

Canelo Alvarez is ‘Full of love’

Gomez announced the pregnancy news with a series of pictures on her Instagram account. The post contained 12 pictures of herself, Canelo Alvarez, and their daughter Maria Fernanda. The 28-year-old Mexican supermodel captioned it: “We have news for you. Our family grows with our second daughter te we wait for you with a lot of love my baby will have a life partner . I love you so much @canelo Thank you God.”

Canelo, clearly touched by the post, commented, “Full of love ,” expressing his deep love for his family. One particularly tender image showed Maria’s hand resting on her mother’s belly, anticipating her sister’s arrival. The following pictures captured Canelo Alvarez cherishing moments with his daughter.

This will be the couple’s second child, but Canelo’s fifth as a father. Before this, he had four children from previous relationships: Emily Alvarez with high school sweetheart Karen Beltran, Maria Fernanda Alvarez with Fernanda Gomez, and Saul Adiel with former business partner Nelda Sepulveda. Canelo Alvarez has another daughter, Mia Ener, with Mexican model Valeria Quiroz.

While the Alvarez family prepares for their newest member, Canelo faces a critical challenge: in less than a week, he’ll battle William Scull to reclaim the super middleweight title he never lost in the ring. And the Cuban has no intentions to go down without a fight.

William Scull’s declaration to the world

William Scull may be the most overlooked boxer today. Despite an undefeated record and holding the IBF super middleweight title, he’s barely mentioned in discussions. Even with his upcoming fight against Canelo Alvarez, the spotlight remains on Canelo’s potential clash with Terence Crawford later this year, relegating Scull to the sidelines.

However, rather than being discouraged, El Indomable is taking it as a motivation. In a recent interview with The Ring, he stated, “It’s disrespectful to me to speak about the other fight with Crawford and not wait for the result of our fight on May 3rd.” He added, “But it’s nothing new for me. Everybody’s been saying this. … I’m going to surprise the world in this moment,” promising to shift the narrative with a career-defining performance.

The Cuban doubled down on his vow, claiming that his style matches up well against the Mexican juggernaut. “My style is a great style to fight Canelo. It’s difficult to win against guys with the Russian style. But Canelo, he has a Mexican style. That’s easier for me,” he said.

Despite his confidence, Scull’s chances against Canelo Alvarez remain low. However, we have seen stranger things happen in this sport, and if Scull somehow pulls this off, he will not only ruin Cinnamon’s seemingly perfect week, but his name will echo in sport’s history forever.
