Julian Lewis didn’t just dip his toes in the water—he cannonballed into the Black and Gold spring game spotlight on Saturday. The former five-star quarterback rolled into Boulder with big-game buzz and wasted no time showing why he belongs in the thick of Colorado’s QB battle. He’s shoulder-to-shoulder with Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter, both gunning for QB1, but Lewis made sure folks knew: this run didn’t start with him.
Before slinging it around Folsom Field, Lewis watched Shedeur Sanders like a hawk, especially during Shedeur Sanders’ final game. “It helped a lot getting to see Shedeur like going to his last game you know seeing the preparation that it takes to be successful on the field That game didn’t go how we wanted to but just getting to see him move around and get ready for his final college as a spectator like this,” said Julian Lewis.
But Shedeur Sanders isn’t the only one who made an impact on Julian Lewis. He even shares a good bond with Kaidon Salter. As Buffs reporter Scott Procter hits X describing their camaraderie, Julian talked about and said, “Julian Lewis calls Kaidon Salter ‘big bro.’ ‘He’s been there and done that.’” Well, looks like the competition fans wanna see – something that doesn’t exist at all.
