Jrue Holiday and Wife Lauren Announce Latest Collab to Uplift Boston as Family’s Community Outreach Expands

Jrue and Lauren Holiday aren’t just building careers—they’re building communities. While Jrue makes his mark on the court with the Boston Celtics, he and Lauren are making an even bigger impact off it, channeling their influence into meaningful change. Their latest initiative brings their passion for social justice, entrepreneurship, and art to Boston, a city rich in history but still grappling with deep-rooted disparities.

Through a new collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), the Holidays are expanding their community outreach, creating opportunities for Black and Brown entrepreneurs to thrive. And with their first-ever Boston grantee cohort now in motion, this is just the beginning.

Now, the Holidays are bringing their vision to Boston. In a new collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), the power duo is launching an initiative that marries entrepreneurship, art, and social impact to build a space for local business owners to find inspiration and resources.

The partnership was announced on Instagram after the MFA revealed that the JLH Fund’s first-ever Boston grantee cohort brought entrepreneurs from 10 local businesses. In the post, they’re seen attending the museum’s “Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson” exhibition. Wilson was a Boston hero who dedicated his life to capturing the powerful portrayal of racial injustice and conflict, intimate accounts of family life, and iconic pieces like the Martin Luther King Jr. bust in the United States Capitol.

When we met with the MFA and we were able to create a partnership, John Wilson was a driving force. We saw ourselves in him a lot and what he stands for and what he has done for the Boston community,” Lauren said about their new undertaking. True enough, this initiative will create a lasting impact by bridging the gap between social impact, art, and entrepreneurship.

But this isn’t even the first time the power couple has given back to the community. Since 2020, they have been creating a history that proves that success should never be about profitability but about seeking to build a meaningful legacy for future generations. Here’s what they have done.

The art of giving back: A Holiday story

Lauren and Jrue Holiday have been leading social change since 2020 when he pledged over $5 million from his NBA salary to start the JLH fund.

Since then, it has grown across multiple cities, supporting business owners in industries ranging from healthcare to education. The Holidays have gone beyond financial contributions, offering mentorship, networking, and strategic opportunities to help businesses thrive.

In their first year, JLH provided $1 million to 50 organizations that received an average grant worth $15,000. These grants supported them during the challenging times, allowing the local businesses to sustain themselves and not go belly-up.

The Holidays expanded their efforts to Milwaukee in 2021 when Jrue joined the Bucks. Organizations like Black Space, which promotes mental health in Black and Brown communities, have benefited from their fund. Co-founder Darius Smith expressed gratitude for the continuous support.

Jrue and Lauren Holiday have set an example of how athletes can give back and create meaningful change by tackling systemic issues. They have provided aid to over 150 Black-owned businesses and nonprofits across New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Los Angeles and have now focused on Boston.

For the Holiday couple, it’s about showing that real change is only possible when action meets purpose. Their newest collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) is a testament to the same.
