John Haliburton Breaks Silence on Heated Giannis Antetokounmpo Moment After Bucks Star’s Stern Message

An unusual incident took place after the Indiana Pacers’ high-octane finish in Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo stood defeated as his and the Bucks’ season came to an early end. The Indiana crowd in the background went wild as reporters and personnel raided the floor. Right there was also John Haliburton, Tyrese Haliburton’s father, who picked a bone with the Greek Freak.

He held up a poster of his son and mouthed some words to the Bucks cornerstone. Likewise, he took exception to going into his grill afterwards to settle the matter. To Antetokounmpo, it felt “very disrespectful” for John to taunt him after such a crushing loss. “I think coming to me and disrespecting me and cursing at me I think it’s totally unacceptable,” Antetokounmpo reflected.

In the highs of the Pacers’ victory, though, the situation only escalated. But now that John Haliburton had time to deduce his actions, he admitted to his wrongdoings. “I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight’s game. This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake again,” he said in a tweet.
