What if I told you that humans are now a minority in the digital world? Surprising, right? After all, who else could be using the internet besides us? Well, the answer isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Artificial intelligence has become the backbone of the modern world. While it undoubtedly aids humanity in countless ways, the situation is more serious than it appears. According to a report shared by Joe Rogan, humans may already be outnumbered in the digital realm—and that raises some unsettling questions.
A report shared by Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra was later reshared by Joe Rogan on his Instagram story. The report highlighted that humans account for 38.5% of global internet traffic, while AI and bots make up 61.2%. Should humans be worried about this phenomenon? According to a 2022 Barracuda security report, the internet as we know it may no longer exist in its form. Currently, non-human forces dominate internet activity.
The report indicates that humans account for just 36% of all online activity, making us a minority in the vast digital world. The remaining 64% is dominated by bots, hacking tools, and other digital entities. The report further states that 39% of total traffic comes from malicious bots, which are responsible for cyberattacks and serious data breaches.
Meanwhile, 25% consists of good bots like search engine crawlers and social media automation. Interestingly, North America is seriously affected by bot traffic as the reports suggest that North America accounts for 67% of bad bot traffic, followed by Europe (22%) and then Asia (7.5%). As scary as this report might be but is actually quite normal, Nitzan Miron, VP of Product Management, Barracuda security states, “While some bots like search engine crawlers are good, our research shows that over 60% of bots are dedicated to carrying out malicious activities at scale.
He further added, “When left unchecked, these bad bots can steal data, affect site performance, and even lead to a breach. That’s why it’s critically important to detect and effectively block bot traffic.” Joe Rogan has been a staunch critic of the growing influence of AI in the world of humans. Time and time again, the podcaster has explained that the time will come when human interference will not be needed in this world and it appears that his words are coming true. Interestingly, the podcaster was baffled when he witnessed the power of Google’s ‘Willow’
Joe Rogan was left baffled by Google’s quantum computing capabilities
Back at JRE episode #2243, Joe Rogan sat down with Julian Lennon to have a candid conversation about the happenings in the world. Amidst the conversation, the podcaster highlighted that quantum computers are such a fascinating thing that they pull answers for humanity from different universes. He said, “It’s insane. Here’s where it gets really weird: the way it was explained to me is that quantum computers pull answers from different universes simultaneously. They don’t even completely understand how this is working, but the amount of computing power is incomprehensible,” said Rogan.
He further added that Willow might be the biggest technological breakthrough that has ever happened, “When you look at the numbers, you could write them all out, but your brain isn’t capable of fully grasping what’s going on. It’s probably the biggest technological breakthrough in human history by a long stretch. And it’s all happening without most people even being aware of what the implications are.
Well, Willow might be a boon for humanity, however, the people at Google shut it down. Why? due to security risks, technical challenges, and ethical concerns. Google ascertained that ‘Willow’ was not completely ready. Nevertheless, is there any different angle to it? Is humanity facing a threat? We may not know now, but the future holds the answer.
