JJ Redick Reveals Disagreement With LeBron James And Luka Doncic As Major Decision Looms For Lakers HC

For a player as experienced as LeBron James, there are not many plays and strategies he hasn’t seen or been a part of on the court. But sometimes, even the greatest need help. And JJ Redick is not afraid to call out the 22-year veteran in the locker room if the situation demands it.

When asked if Redick has words with LeBron during team film sessions to clarify details about certain plays, the head coach said, “Yeah, everybody is a star in film at different points, but there is a holistic nature to how we want to play.” Yes, there might be times when JJ and King James butt heads during film sessions, of course in a healthy manner. Same goes for Luka Doncic, who is expected to be the future face of the Lakers’ franchise.

Redick continued, “If it’s breaking down you know what we’re doing against blitzes and pick and roll or what we’re doing against fires and iso, like everybody needs to be locked in.” For teams to win games and execute their plan perfectly, every player needs to be on the same page. That’s why film sessions are so important.

“The Reds, a lot of it is you know philosophy. You can’t come down every time and just be like ‘all right, we’re gonna run this set’ because they’re just gonna switch everything… It has to be more about concepts and how to create advantages and honestly, if you look at those 11 clips from the Orlando game, we did that.” Redick added.

The head coach also highlighted how great players like LeBron and Luka could have a different mentality about this, but coaches need to make sure they get the same message the rest of the team gets, “I think for great players, it’s natural to just be like ‘Oh, I’ll just win my matchup.’ And some nights we can do that truthfully. Other times against certain teams we have to play a little bit differently.”

While Redick continues his masterclass of working with superstars like LeBron and Luka, a major uncertainty looms for the Lakers – Jordan Goodwin’s future!

Lakers face crucial Jordan Goodwin dilemma after Pacers clash as playoffs approach

While LeBron and Luka have been the stars of the Lake Show, the team might not have been this successful had it not been for its supporting cast. One player who has truly surprised everyone is Jordan Goodwin. Well, the Lakers acquired him last month on a two-way contract and he has become a key part of JJ’s rotation since then. Coming off the bench, Goodwin has averaged 6.7 points and over four rebounds.

However, for him to continue suiting up in Purple and Gold, the Lakers would need to convert his two-way contract. As per veteran insider Bobby Marks, tonight’s Pacers clash was Goodwin’s 19th and final game on the active list. And he will only be eligible to play the remaining regular season games and the playoffs if his contract becomes permanent. Sure enough, the decision seems a no-brainer for the Lakers, considering how impressive Jordan has been so far. But there is a problem.

The Lakers will need to convert the Two-Way contract for Goodwin to be eligible for the remaining regular season games and postseason.

The Lakers would need to clear a roster spot.

If Goodwin’s contract is converted, the Lakers would be required to clear a roster spot for him. So, Redick and the team management have an important decision to make. As of now, it seems likely that they will keep Goodwin because he has been a crucial part of their success and they would not want to mess with the winning formula.
