Even the masters of content can’t dictate what stays hidden now. The first season of ‘Paul American’ has dropped and with it, some of the well-kept secrets of Paul households are out, whether they wanted to keep it under wraps or not. Surprisingly, the revelations seem to have caught Jake Paul and Logan Paul just as off-guard as the rest of us.
In a recent episode of Impaulsive, the entire Paul clan sat down to promote the show. For the first time, the facade of a flawless on-screen family began to splinter as The Problem Child confronted his parents about a long-kept secret from his childhood.
Jake Paul’s childhood memory ruined
During the podcast, The Maverick and his fiancée Nina Adgal revealed how challenging it was to give birth on camera. The pair welcomed their first child, Esmé Agdal Paul in September 2024, which was captured in the ‘Paul American’ entirely. After the couple was done, Jake Paul stated, “I have a gripe to pick,” turning towards his parents.
The 28-year-old dropped a bombshell: he’d stumbled across footage of his own birth while watching an early cut of the show, something he never knew existed. “Cameras didn’t exist when I was born. And you guys had a videographer in the room and I’m sitting here watching a first cut of an episode. And I see myself being f****ng born on camera. You guys have failed to mention that, never showed me, and why the f**k did you have a videographer in there?” he asked aggressively.
The duo’s father, Gregory Allan Paul, was not able to grasp the seriousness in Jake Paul’s tone and joked, “We were saving it for the show,” as laughter erupted around the room. Logan Paul cut in, siding with his brother. “I saw that footage and I nearly wept. Jake doesn’t know this exists. I was f****ng pissed. I sent them a note like you have ruined a moment in my life for me and my brother and our family,” he stated.
Finally, Pam Stepnick intervened, giving Jake Paul the “real answer” he wanted. “Back in the day, 30 years ago when you guys were born, we had that video camera because my dad gave it to us and he was into filming. We thought to bring it to the hospital and I have no idea a nurse was filming,” she said.
So, it looks like even they had no idea how the video came to fruition. Jake didn’t seem bothered by that part, though, after all, it’s prime content. What stung was that his parents kept it under wraps, leaving him to discover it alongside the rest of the world.
That was not the only awkward moment in the podcast. Jake Paul’s fiancée, Jutta Leerdam accidentally had an oops moment, which left the whole family confused.

During the podcast, Logan Paul tossed a playful curveball at the Olympian, aiming to catch her off-guard. “What do you think about having Greg Paul as your father-in-law?” he asked. However, Leerdam maintained her calm and said, “I think he’s pretty great,” brushing off any chance of stirring the pot about her future father-in-law.
So far, so good, right? Then she added, “He has a small heart. He just has a big mouth, and he talks a lot,” as everyone erupted. The Dutch speed skater realized her mix-up and clarified, “Oh, I translated it like literally out of Dutch. [In Dutch] We say small heart like that’s like a cute heart.” A statement that Greg Paul embraced as a compliment.
