Shifting from YouTube stardom to becoming a major name in boxing, Jake Paul’s stock soared after his win over Mike Tyson last year. Now, he’s steadily working his way toward a world championship. However, it’s unusual that Jake Paul took nearly a month to respond to Terence Crawford. Still, it’s not entirely surprising. He’s been deep in training for his upcoming June 28 bout against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also been busy expanding his MVP roster, recently signing Chantelle Cameron and Savannah Marshall. But now, it seems Jake Paul may already have his next target lined up.
Just moments ago, MVP’s official Instagram posted: “Jake Paul addresses recent Terrence Crawford interview with Shannon Sharpe, where Crawford said he would fight Jake Paul for $200 million Crawford is currently weighing 187 pounds. Who wins?”
In the post, The Problem Child made an announcement. “Terence Crawford, you just made my bit-h list,” the 11-1 boxer said. Further adding, “Come on now bro… All these pound for pound fighters that you too scared to fight me they need $200 million to do it. Pu–y!” and not just that.
Taking a dig at the NFL Hall of Famer as well, he said, “And Shannon Sharpe you can get it too. No choking though.” But why?
If you’re wondering where that came from, it all traces back to last month, when Terence Crawford sat down for an interview with Shannon Sharpe.
Everything’s possible when Jake Paul brings the bag
When the 56-year-old asked if he’d ever step into the ring with Jake Paul, Terence Crawford didn’t hesitate, “Nah, nah. He [is] too big… But he’s doing his thing.” Crawford seemed to brush off the idea until Sharpe threw out a wild hypothetical: What if the purse was $200 million?
Without missing a beat, Crawford burst out laughing and replied, “I am fighting Jake Paul,” sending the entire room into a fit of laughter.
Turns out, for the right price, even the most unlikely matchups suddenly seem possible.
