The crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium was left stunned as the partnership between the #2 Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu got outclassed by Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula. The score? It was 4-2, 4-2. But what really amazed the New York crowd was the kind of performance that the #4 WTA star showcased. Did you see the way she ducked to avoid Raducanu’s passing shot in the first round? We all thought Alcaraz and Raducanu would win, but they only lasted 50 minutes. And according to Draper, it was all thanks to his partner, Jessica Pegula.

Following the crazy win at the 2025 US Open mixed doubles, during the post-game interview, a reporter asked Draper about his feelings regarding his first mixed doubles win of his career. And the Briton was still in awe of Pegula’s skills. He answered, “I’ve got a pretty good partner. Honestly, like, what an experience playing out here, with Jessica playing Emma and Carlos, you know. It doesn’t get any better than this. So, it’s just a pleasure to be out here playing against them and playing with such a good player.”
