It seems like another fighter joined the bandwagon with Charles Oliveira expressing his skepticism towards former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria‘s move to the lightweight division. He’s not the first 155fer to do that, but ‘El Matador’ seems to have had it. The Georgian-Spaniard decided to launch a few words in response to Oliveira while putting Islam Makhachev on alert.
Ilia Topuria claims to be on a different level than Charles Oliveira, as he wrote, “Charles, it’s better if you stay quiet. You have 10 losses: 5 by knockout, 4 by submission, and 1 by decision,” on X, flaunting his squeaky clean record. It was then the former featherweight champion boldly claimed to be the biggest threat in the lightweight division, undermining Islam Makhachev’s status as champion. “You are the contender, while I am the champion, the father of the entire division. I haven’t come here to ask anything. Here, I am the one in charge,” Topuria added.
