4 min read

The Stanford alum who joined the PGA Tour in 2025 has been showcasing his great talent since he turned pro. Isaiah Salinda has been playing professionally since 2019 and has won the 2024 Panama Championship. Starting off the 2024 season with a victory, the golfer has showcased an upward trend in his performance. Even in his ongoing participation at the Zurich Classic, along with some top names including Rory McIlroy, the golfer has performed rather well in the first round.

His unique choice of clubs to carry is what has helped him with a record-breaking performance. To do so, he uses Callaway equipment that suits his game style well offering precision and ball control. Here is what he carries in his bag.

Isaiah Salinda’s preference for long distance

For hitting off the tee, the 28-year-old prefers Callaway Rogue ST Max LAS 10.5 degrees. The chunky-looking driver is paired with a Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 70 TX shaft to elevate the overall experience of ball hitting. The driver is widely praised for achieving long distances with precision, having great forgiveness. Selling for $350 approximately, it is a great option for golfers who prefer long clubs.

Along with that, he carries a 4-Wood for covering the distance with ease. The Callaway Mavrik SubZero with 16.5 degrees of loft and Fujikura Ventus Blue 8X shaft is ideal for low spin and high distance coverage. Though it isn’t the highest forgiving club, which requires an ideal impact to reach the distance.

Additionally, in the bag, Salinda adds Callaway irons to reach near the greens. He carries X Forged UT 21 degrees, and Apex TCB (4-5), Apex MB (6-9). The X Forged UT is a light-weight, small-faced iron with limited forgiveness but with great feel. On the other hand, the Apex TCB is the #1 iron model on the PGA Tour that offers mid-high spin rate with medium trajectory. Even the Apex MB offers precision distance control while maintaining consistency. The irons preferred by Salinda have low forgiveness, but high consistency, which relies on his shot selection and hitting. Coming at $1500 per set, it is a great for consistency.

After hitting the long distances with precision, the golfer then brings out his clubs that have more spin and accuracy on the greens.

Salinda’s picks for the greens

For the final shots, he carries his best-suited wedges and the putter. For reaching near the cup with precision, irrespective of the ball lie, the golfer carries Callaway Jaws Forged 46 degrees (10), 50 degrees (10), 54 degrees (12), Dynamic Golf Tour Issue X100 46 degrees and True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue S400 (50-58 degrees). With high forgiveness and accuracy, it becomes an ideal option to reach near the cup with ease. Irrespective of the ball position, be it in a bunker or deep rough, the wedges are designed from 8620 carbon steel, making it easier to hit.

Finally, for making the putt, he carries the Odyssey Toulon Design San Diego. The ability to offer controlled distance and roll is what keeps it on the top of pros’ choice list. The boxy-shape and curved edges make it evenly balanced for hitting with precision. Priced at approximately $600, it is a reliable option for the final shot. Additionally, he uses Callaway Chrome Soft X ball which is known for ideal launch with spin control to maximize precision.

With the great set of clubs, the golfer is already nailing it, but can he win his first at the PGA Tour in his rookie season? What are your thoughts on it? Share with us in the comments below.
