“I Could Cry”: Charissa Thompson in Tears Over Family Moment as FOX Bids Farewell to NFL Legends

4 min read

Fox Sports has been on fire with their NFL coverage. From jaw-dropping moments to must-watch broadcasts, they’ve set the gold standard. And now, with Tom Brady on board, they’re taking things up another notch. Honestly, they’ve been leveling up their game for a while now. And a lot of credit goes to two fan favorites – Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews. These two bring the perfect mix of energy, sharp insight, and just the right amount of fun. If you’ve been keeping up with their IG stories, you already know the two MVPs of Fox have touched down in New Orleans. But in the middle of all the NFL glitz and glam, Charissa shared something on Instagram that most ‘working‘ folks can relate to.

So, what’s the latest in the Fox world? On Saturday, Charissa Thompson shared a series of IG stories from behind the scenes of Super Bowl LIX. Her stories featured a star-studded cast – Michael Vick, Julian Edelman, Charles Woodson, and her best friend and colleague, Erin Andrews. It was all fun and smiles until Thompson had to call it a night early. Yes, you read that right. The 42-year-old nearly shed a tear over some serious FOMO. While her family was out living it up in New Orleans, she was stuck heading to bed early for morning reporting duties.

Sharing a family picture on her IG story, Thompson wrote, “I’m in bed early ’cause I work tomorrow, but all my favorite guys are together… I could cry (crying and heart emoji). Love you @stevancundari, Dad & Brother.” The picture featured Charissa’s boyfriend, Steven Cundari. The trio was seen enjoying their time in the city famous for its magical nightlife.

Charissa and Steven have been together for almost three years now. And guess who played matchmaker for the Fox reporter? Rams QB Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly! They had a big hand in bringing the couple together. Fans are always flooding Charissa with marriage questions, but she’s made it clear, walking down the aisle isn’t on her to-do list.

Back to Fox and Charissa, the network also had to say goodbye to one of its most loved hosts.

Who got Charissa Thompson and the FOX crew all emotional?

It’s time for former legendary Eagles QB Michael Vick to say goodbye to Fox, and the entire Fox crew, including Charissa Thompson, is feeling the loss. Many of you already know that Vick will be joining NSU as head coach. The former NFL star discussed his new role on The Dan Patrick Show last week. Vick, who interned under Chiefs coach Andy Reid back in 2017, shared that he sees this opportunity as a way to serve the youth.

It wasn’t the easiest decision to make. I have a family to consider, people I care about and love. This requires a lot of change in lifestyle. But at the same time, it allows me to serve young men in my community.Charissa Thompson posted a story on Saturday, saying, “Out here with my guys… walkthrough for tomorrow’s big day and @mikevick’s last day with us (crying emoji).” The Fox crew has known since December that Vick would be heading to NSU as head coach, but now that it’s actually happening, it’s hitting hard.

On the other hand, legendary QB Terry Bradshaw also revealed his retirement plans. The 76-year-old shared, “I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there, I said, “I’ve got two years left at FOX. I’m 76… If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. That’s, I think that’s time.” Uh-oh! Looks like Fox is in for a tough time with these legends leaving the channel. They better buckle up and start looking for suitable replacements soon. But for now, just hang tight, because the Super Bowl is only a few hours away.
