The first alternate event of the 2025 season will be played next week! As the biggest names in golf visit the Bay Hill Golf Club, others who couldn’t cut the list will go to Puerto Rico. Why you ask? Well, the likes of Brice Garnett, Blades Brown, and possibly Jordan Spieth will play in the 2025 Puerto Rico Open from March 6-9, 2025.
How did Jordan Spieth make the list? Well, he and Rickie Fowler have not been exempt for the Signature event of the week, the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Hence, if they want to keep up with everyone on the FedEx Cup rankings, then they might try to win the Puerto Rican event next week. Does this make you eager to watch the 2025 Puerto Rico Open? Do you know how you can catch all the action live? Then let’s take a look at the TV schedule for the event.
2025 Puerto Rico Open broadcast schedule
The 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational is being played the same week as the Puerto Rico Open. Hence, the event will have restricted broadcast hours for all the 4 rounds.
As per Druids, the first round of the alternate event will begin at 10:30 A.M. (EST). The round will be broadcast live for 3 hours before giving up the broadcast to the Signature event at 2:00 P.M. (EST). The coverage for round two will also last between 10:30 A.M.—1:30 P.M. (EST).
For the second and third round, the PGA Tour will focus on broadcasting the second half of the event. The penultimate round will be available live from 2:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. (EST). Fans will be able to see a lot of the final round action from 1:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. (EST).

That was everything we could find about the schedule. Now let’s take a look at who actually is a part of the event field.
Past winners and new competitors
Only three of the last six winners of the tournament will be on the field in the 2025 Puerto Rico Open. Viktor Hovland, who won the event in 2020, will be busy with the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Branden Grace and Nico Echavarría are a part of the entry list for both the tournaments.
Having said that, the 2024 champion, Brice Garnett, will be coming back to Puerto Rico to defend his title. He will be joined by past winners, Ryan Brehm (2022) and Martin Trainer (2019). Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler won’t be playing the tournament. Both of them have decided to take a break after not receiving exemptions for the concurrently played Signature event.
Promising young golfer, Blades Brown will also be on the field in the tournament. Alternatively, Thriston Lawrence and Lanto Griffin have also made the field for the visit to Puerto Rico from March 6-9, 2025. Local hero Rafael Campos got an exemption in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
