She is the first female Native American professional to get it and shared a heartfelt message. “I am incredibly grateful to have received a sponsor invite to the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. It’s an honor to compete against the best in the world while also representing something much bigger than myself,” she said. Barker is from Caldwell, Idaho, and is a member of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation. She got the exception from The Thunderbirds, a founding partner of the Ford Championship.
