Greg Norman Dissed by Former LIV Golf Pro Again After Alleged Broken Promises & Lies: ‘I’ve Stayed Patient’

“I trusted them. I was the first young guy, then the others came after I made the decision. But OWGR and majors still haven’t happened.” These words from Eugenio Chacarra, a former LIV Golf player, sum up the disappointment and frustration many players felt when the league failed to deliver on its promises. Chacarra joined LIV Golf in 2022, lured by assurances of Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and major tournament appearances. However, the league’s 54-hole and team format proved to be a major hindrance, and Chacarra’s dreams of competing in the majors remained elusive. His experience with LIV Golf has been a costly one, both financially and emotionally.

He had planned to rejoin college in 2022, but a hefty paycheck in Bangkok changed his mind. As time went on, Chacarra realized that money wasn’t everything – he yearned for the recognition and prestige that came with competing on the PGA Tour.

Now, Chacarra is focused on fulfilling his dream of getting a Tour card, which he hopes will finally bring him the opportunities and acclaim he deserves. And well, he surely is on the right path to do that! His thrilling win at the 2025 Hero Indian Open, with a stunning score of -1 (F) and a total of -4, is proof enough of that. “Thank you to Hero for giving me the chance to compete. You guys have changed my life today…” Chacarra’s happiness and gratitude were clear, and his emotions shone through in his words.

Chacarra’s story is one of courage and conviction. As an amateur, he made the bold decision to join LIV Golf, but it wasn’t an easy ride. He faced uncertainty and self-doubt, but he stayed patient and focused on his game. And now, he’s reaping the rewards. “It means everything. I decided when I was an amateur to join the other side of golf but now jumping out and not knowing what I was going to be able to play. But I’ve stayed patient, and I know when I play well I’m one of the best players in the world I’m really proud and very happy,” he beamed after his win. With his newfound success, Chacarra is proving that he has got what it takes to make his name in the world of golf.

But if you think the victory and the fame come easily, you could not be more wrong.

Eugenio Chacarra’s latest win was anything but easy

The golfers at the Hero Indian Open faced a brutal challenge in the penultimate round, with firm greens, high winds, and tough pin positions making it a day to forget for many. The cut score was a staggering six over, and the clubhouse leader could only manage three under. As Eugenio Chacarra aptly put it, “This course, we know what it is. I mean, it’s just one bad swing of a big number.” The conditions were so treacherous that even approach shots required pinpoint accuracy, making it a true test of endurance.

“The ultimate anxieties are playing out there. It just feels like you’re constantly on high alert because you’ll have a four or five foot putt and you’re so busy thinking about the next one, you’re actually just lagging them down there,” Chacarra’s fellow golfer Stone noted, echoing the sentiment of many players. Despite the challenges, Chacarra persevered and came out on top, but it was clear that this win was hard-earned, but What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
