GM Confirms Giannis Antetokounmpo Meeting After Bucks Star’s Comment on Milwaukee Future

2 min read

Amid all the Giannis trade chatter, The Athletics’ Eric Nehm took it straight to the source—Bucks GM Jon Horst—and what he shared on X was pretty reassuring if you’re a Milwaukee fan. Horst emphasized the trust built over a decade, saying, “We talk to Giannis all the time. Our coaches are with Giannis working him out. Our strength coaches are working him out. I’ll go visit him after summer league. There’s a reason we don’t really speculate or talk about any of this stuff ever. This is no different. We’re entirely focused on our job. Our job is to build the best team that we can, present that to him, present the vision and the plan, and go kick a– in the next season.”

This GM confirmation came just days after Giannis Antetokounmpo raised eyebrows with his own words. During a livestream with IShowSpeed, the two-time MVP was asked if he expects to stay with the Bucks for the 2025-26 season. His response? “Probably. Probably, we’ll see. Probably, I love Milwaukee.” It wasn’t a firm yes—and that hint of uncertainty lit up the speculation again, especially with so many Knicks fans still hoping to lure him to New York. So yeah, Horst’s comments couldn’t have come at a better time.
