Gilbert Arenas Rejected Alijah’s Only Request as 18YO Son Recovers From Life-Threatening Crash

A week of debacle ends for Gilbert Arenas and his family. It was last Thursday, before 5:00 in the morning, when Alijah Arenas lost control of his Cybertruck, which rammed into a fire hydrant and a tree. Thankfully, bystanders quickly came to the 18-year-old’s rescue to pull him from the wreckage. The car was already caught in fire, which is why the son of the NBA star had to be put into an induced coma as part of the protocol. But as the father resumed his podcasting duties, the son returned home.

Agent Zero took to X to share his emotions after the horrific crash and thanked the onlookers first. “I want to thank Jose, Bryant, and Robert for saving Alijah — he can’t wait to meet you guys. Truly grateful to everyone for the prayers, love, and support during his healing. Much love.” Throughout this ordeal for the USC commit star, the family members continued to ask for support through prayers. The most shocking update during this time for the community was the induced coma situation.

But that was a mere protocol. The reason behind Arenas’ induced coma was due to smoke inhalation from the fire caused by the accident. Gilbert Arenas in his tweet also spoke about his son’s previous reaction of ever being in a coma. “Funny enough, Alijah told his boys way back: If I’m ever in a coma, don’t bring flowers. Bust in rapping ‘I might swerve, bend that corner, woah’ by Gelo like it’s the national anthem.

Using the viral track Tweaker’s reference, Alijah Arenas was adamant about not having flowers. But the family brought some, and it is even visible in the return home video. The final statement from Gilbert Arenas was at his best as he put behind the entire emotional issue of the family.

Because nothing screams perfect timing like saying ‘Swerve on that corner, woah’… right after you actually did. Into a tree. Into a hospital stay WELCOME HOME #adidas #uscbasketball #godisgood.” Good to see the ex-Warriors star and his son in good spirits, after all, the entire situation was never easy on the family.

Prayers and support came through as Gilbert Arenas’ son is ready for the next step

Laura Govan, the former partner of the 3x All-Star and the mother of Alijah, asked for continuous prayers to deal with the situation. “I need all youre fuc–ng prayers .” Not just her, but her 15-year-old daughter thanked the community for the emotional support. “Thank you guys so much for the prayers it means a lot to us. I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can!!” Hamiley Arenas, a basketball prodigy herself, wrote the update on Instagram.

Gilbert Arenas was pretty much silent throughout the last week. In fact, it was his close associate who gave us updates about the USC commit’s recovery. Not just them, Melli Moncao, the wife of the ex-Wizards star, took to Instagram story to update about the situation. She first added, “Thank you for all THE LOVE & THE PRAYERS the baby is doing good.” The photo was of her and Alijah, where both of them were seen smiling. In another story, she added, “I just know the comeback About to be CRAAAAZY.”

This was the previous photo from the sidelines when the son of Gilbert Arenas was on the court. Alijah did not suffer from any broken bones during his horrific crash. Even in the video, one can see him walking fine. But the severity of the accident shouldn’t be brushed away easily, as the 18YO begins the new journey with the USC.
