A moment of chaos hit the Arenas family. Early morning, even before the break of dawn, Alijah Arenas suffered a car crash. The unfortunate incident took place near Corbin Avenue and Blythe Street in Reseda. Multiple family members shared their emotions right from early morning till now. Gilbert Arenas is yet to officially express himself, and we can understand why he is taking his time. But a source close to the ex-Warriors star updated the community.
It was Laura Govan, the mother of Alijah and ex-partner of the NBA star, who asked for prayers. “I need all youre fuc–ng prayers .” Their daughter, hours later, thanked everybody for their continuous messages and support. 15-year-old Hamiley Arenas added, “Thank you guys so much for the prayers it means a lot to us. I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can!!”
As per the reports, Gilbert Arenas’ son was in a Tesla Cybertruck early Thursday morning when the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree/fire hydrant with fire involved. The five-star recruit was luckily pulled from the wreckage and thankfully did not suffer any broken bones from the serious crash. The only update that came from the former Wizards star was that the regular live program of Gil’s Arena was canceled. But there is an update about the situation.
“For everyone hitting me about Gilbert Arenas’ son being in a serious accident, Gilbert just hit me back and said his son is doing good and should be fine.” This was DJ Vlad, who has multiple times had Agent Zero on his YouTube channel. 3 weeks ago, the YouTuber dropped a 2-hour-long conversation with the 3x All-Star. Ever since then, he has released snippets from that interview, and currently, it already has 25 parts.

LA Times further indicates that drugs and alcohol were not involved. KCAL News gave a further update about the vehicle and claimed that DMV reports indicate Gilbert Arenas as the registered owner of the Cyber Truck. As for Alijah’s condition, he was put into an induced coma, and the LAPD later confirmed that the condition was stable.
Current stars and NBA icons rally behind Gilbert Arenas and his family during this time
After the reports of the 18-year-old in the induced coma, there was some panic on social media. But SI reporter Tarek Fattal added the insight into the reasoning behind it. This was a mere protocol, after any smoke inhalation had occurred. Not only fans, but the who’s who of the basketball community did send their regards and prayers for Gilbert Arenas’ family and, most importantly, his son.
Kevin Garnett, the Celtics legend, added, “Yoo MAJOR PRAYERS GOES OUT TO Alijah Arenas N GILBERT Arenas FAMILY… Hoping for the best .” Even the current WNBA star, Angel Reese, prayed for Alijah. “Prayers for Alijah.” Lakers icon, Magic Johnson, too shared the support during the difficult time for Arenas.
“Cookie and I are praying for a full recovery for Alijah Arenas following his car crash,” the Lakers legend tweeted. “We are also praying for the entire Arenas family, especially his dad Gilbert and mom Laura, during this difficult time.” The fans, the stars, and the icons of the game are all in unison and praying for more positive updates for Alijah Arenas.
