Alright, so the New York Giants couldn’t digest Aaron Rodgers’ visit to the Steelers facility. Although his six-hour meeting with the Steelers front office didn’t earn him a deal, it did allow someone else to find a new home. Enter Jameis Winston—with a ‘high-risk, high-reward’ vibe written all over him. Once, the former No.1 overall pick was reduced to the shadows of other veterans Giants were flirting with. Aaron Rodgers didn’t happen, Russell Wilson probably won’t happen, and Matthew Stafford—was a long shot, to be honest. So, the Giants did what they could and brought a 10-year veteran to the Big Apple whose signing got instant recognition from a Giants rookie sensation.
Tyrone Tracy Jr—picked by the Giants in the 5th round last year, lit the MetLife Stadium on fire with his insane ball-carrying capabilities. Like Tracy Jr. didn’t even get his first start until week 5 when the Giants veteran RB David Singletary got injured. Notching up 129 rushing yards on just 18 carries against the Seahawks, Tracy Jr.’s backup status was about to change. Even after Singletary came back from his injury, by week 8, the Giants had made their decision. Tyrone was going to be their starter—and boy, it turned out to be a masterstroke.
Tracy Jr. ended his first year in the NFL with 839 rushing yards on just 192 carries with 5 TDs. This gave the Giants some relief about their running back position after losing Saquon Barkley the same year. So, having earned a key place in the Giants roster. Tracy Jr. didn’t take long to express his reaction to the Giants signing Winston. Taking to his Instagram stories, he reshared a post by the NFL that announced Giants signing Jameis Winston with a caption, “Let’s work @jaboowins.” Albeit adding a clapping and fire emoji to express his excitement.

Maybe Tracy Jr. thinks Winston can be a solution to their QB woes that sunk their 100th year of the franchise. What started with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy Devito in the QB room—only had Devito surviving. So, the Giants didn’t want to wait any longer to snap up a veteran while he was still available. But the real question is with Winston’s arrival. Are the Giants still going to use their No.3 overall pick? Well, they are probably going to draft a college superstar quarterback anyway. At least, that’s what Tracy Jr. also wishes.
His choice? “I’m a fan of Cam Ward,” as he revealed last month. But can the Giants really get their hands on Ward, who is mostly likely to pick No.1? Well, that’s a story for a different day. Right now, it’s all about Jameis Winston. Not only Tyrone Tracy Jr. is excited. The 31-year-old himself is really to eat Ws in the Big Apple.
Jameis Winston can’t wait to get started in Big Blues
Big Apple is soon going to experience Winston Ball, which has nothing but pure entertainment written all over it. Coming off a one-and-done season in Cleveland, Winston showed he is a double-edged sword. Replacing Deshaun Watson in a Browns offense that failed to reach even 20 points in his 7 starts.
Winston engineered multiple upset victories over divisional rivals the Ravens and the Steelers. Then he also went on to throw a franchise record 497 passing yards in a week 13 loss to the Broncos. Now, you may be wondering how it is possible that those numbers still weren’t enough for a W. Well, ask Winston.
He threw 4 TDs for the Browns and 2 for the Broncos. Yep, 2 out of his 3 interceptions were returned for a TD that doomed the Browns to a 41-32 loss. Just like that, 3 weeks later, Winston was replaced mid-game after throwing 3 interceptions against the Chiefs. Seeing his rollercoaster of QB play, the Browns had enough. They put him on the bench and didn’t start again. So, his Browns tenure might be over in an ugly divorce. But it seems Winston has forgotten all of it and is ready to move on.

After inking a two-year, $8M deal in New York, Winston announced his latest chapter with a signature post on X. “Start spreading the neWs ” This makes us question will the Ws really arrive with Winston starting in the Big Apple. See, obviously—he comes with a 10-year experience in the league.
With stints in Tampa Bay, Saints and Browns. But can he be a starter in Big Blues? Well, probably not. What he can be is a mentor to the new QB the Giants are soon going to draft. Whether it’s Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders—Winston’s advice on TDs—not INTs—will surely come in handy for them.
