Imagine one day you are asked to stop doing something you love. You will most definitely be hit with millions of emotions, anger, and pain while questioning your purpose in life. Well, that’s what happened with Bills’ offensive lineman Tommy Doyle. Constant troubles with injuries have forced him to medically retire after just 4 years of joining the Bills. Now, any footballer whose journey on the gridiron comes to a sudden halt they are bound to get upset, right? Of course, Doyle would be devastated, but he sure left an exciting message about his future to the Bills Mafia.

On February 15th, when the Bills announced on X, Tommy Doyle has announced his retirement from the NFL.” Doyle has since grabbed the opportunity to retweet that post with a personal message for the Bills, “Can’t wait to tailgate with Bills Mafia finally ” See, Doyle was pretty active in the Bills community throughout his 4 years as their OL. He was often seen at various events, connecting with fans or doing charity work around Western New York.

When the Bills also asked him what’s next. Doyle’s answer was simple, like a fan, “I’d probably like to come to a tailgate and drink some Labatt Blue Lights.” However, that’s not the only thing he spilled in his final interview with the Bills.

Besides coming back as a member of the Bills Mafia, cheering them from the stands of Highmark. Doyle also revealed the thing he will most certainly miss from his 4 years at the club. “I think what I will remember most just the relationships formed with the guys on the team, with the coaches, with the trainers, with the fans.” But that’s Doyle’s best memories with the Bills. As for the fans, they will probably remember him the most from his rookie season.

Joining the Bills in 2021, there was a moment in the postseason against the Patriots when Doyle scored a TD. Yes, an offensive lineman like Doyle popped up with a one-yard TD from none other than Josh Allen in a wild card game win vs the Patriots 47-17. That was probably the happiest Doyle was as a Bill. Since then, injuries started to take the life out of him. His first major injury was an ACL tear against the Dolphins in 2022. Then, after coming back from his ACL, Doyle suffered yet another setback, this time against the Steelers.

His leg injury during the Buffalo’s preseason game was the final nail in the coffin of Doyle’s football career. Yes, he did try to come back. But there was an apparent nerve damage which permanently sidelined him from the gridiron. With that being said, Doyle’s chapter as a footballer may be over. However, God sure has something greater planned for Doyle away from football. Even for the Bills, there could be some good news waiting in the wings. And that comes in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been their archnemesis in recent years.

Josh Allen’s Bills get linked to Chiefs superstar Hollywood Brown

See, the Bills are just coming off a historic season offensively. Never before has a team in the NFL scored 30 passing and 30 rushing TDs in a single season. However, under league MVP Josh Allen, it was possible. Allen himself contributed with 28 TDs on the air and 12 on the ground. But none of those really helped his cause to see off the Chiefs in the playoffs. And just like the last 5 postseasons, Allen’s Bills fell short against the Chiefs for 4th time.

This year’s AFC Championship title loss 32-29 was Allen’s second since joining the Bills in 2018. So, with that thought of regrouping, there are rumors that the Bills could poach Hollywood Brown from the Chiefs.

Brown is all set to test free agency this March after signing only a one-year deal with the Chiefs. However, his time in Kansas City hasn’t been great. He only managed to play 5 games, both the regular season and post-season included, because of his shoulder injury. And has since only managed to catch 14 passes for 142 yards.

So, there’s a feeling around the Chiefs they might not bring Brown back, considering Xavier Worthy’s rise. Don’t forget Rashee Rice and DeAndre Hopkins, who are also a part of the Chiefs receiving corps for next season. Maybe that’s why Josh Allen’s rumored interest in playing with Brown, as per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, could help the Bills in landing the Chiefs receiver this offseason.

His addition to the Bills could probably help them in getting the better of the Chiefs next season. For now, all we can do is just wait and watch where Brown plays in 2025.
