Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October 2023. From pause to play: Isabella Strahan’s active comeback to USC

In 2023, NFL star Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella, started her freshman year at the University of Southern California. Just 50 days in, her life took a dramatic turn that changed everything. It began subtly when she noticed she couldn’t walk straight. “I woke up, probably at like 1 p.m. I dreaded waking up. But I was throwing up blood,” she recalled. She was rushed to the hospital, where an MRI revealed a rapidly growing tumor—medulloblastoma—the size of a golf ball.

Since that day, Isabella has undergone two more surgeries, six weeks of radiation, and four rounds of chemotherapy. Last summer, she triumphed over cancer and returned to school after a year off. Now officially cancer-free, she shared a handwritten note that read, “Believe that things will get better. No matter what, keep going! F–k cancer!”

On August 20, she posted a selfie with her mom, Jean Muggli, captioned “Back at USC.” A video showed her dancing in her new apartment, celebrating her fresh start. “I get to start my freshman year again, and I hope I’m there for longer than 50 days this time,” she said.

Isabella’s latest social media update reveals an exciting new chapter in her college journey. She has joined the Delta Gamma sorority at USC while focusing on journalism and communications. On January 15, she shared photos on her Instagram Stories, giving followers a glimpse of a fun surprise. The pictures were from Disco PC 25, an event held by the historic sorority. In one shot, she held a cardboard cutout shaped like an anchor with “DEEG Isabella” written on it, showing just how much she’s loving her college experience.

And Fast forward to now, as Isabe͏lla s͏teps back into her routine, her m͏om, ͏Jean, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagr͏am to mark͏ this ͏b͏i͏g moment. She posted a sweet throwback photo of her daughters, Isabella and Sophia, hanging out with their adorable Saint Bernard dogs. Jean captioned it, “Oh, how I missed these days.” She also shared a beach photo of the twins. She wrote, “All my life, you have been so, so good,” with “Goodness of God” playing in the background.

Isabella maintained a positive outlook throughout her journey. In a March 2025 interview with Hello Magazine, she said, “Now I don’t say no to anything. I don’t think, ‘I’ll do it next week.’ You never know what next week will bring.” Now, she’s embracing a new chapter in her life, back at the University of Southern California.

Even while undergoing treatment, she dedicated herself to raising awareness about cancer recovery, inspiring others going through similar struggles. And that’s exactly why she’s such a shining light!
