Lexi Thompson’s name has been synonymous with excellence in women’s golf for over a decade. With 11 LPGA Tour victories under her belt, she’s proven herself to be one of the most talented and dedicated players in the sport. But after announcing her decision to step away from full-time competition last year, many fans wondered if they’d ever see her compete at the highest level again.

Thompson’s offseason was filled with relaxation, adventure, and a surprise proposal from her boyfriend, Max Provost, during a trip to Whistler, Canada. The soon-to-be 30-year-old golfer took time to recharge and refocus, and it’s clear that she’s eager to make the most of her limited schedule. “I don’t think I’ve ever met somebody like Max,” Thompson said. “He treats me so special and loves me every single day, which I don’t know how sometimes. I’m lucky every day. I’ve prayed for a man like him.” Now, as sweet as it is, her husband isn’t the only support system Thompson has, as the golfer has found a best friend in someone else.

You might not know this, but Thompson has a secret supporter who’s always there to lift her spirits — her adorable dog, Leo. She recently shared a sweet tribute to Leo on Instagram, calling him her “best little friend ever” and revealing just how much joy he brings to her life.

As she wrote, “In 2018 I went into Heavenly Puppies looking to volunteer, and I walked out with my best little friend ever.” It’s clear that Leo has been a constant companion for Thompson, providing comfort and support through all the ups and downs of her golfing career.

It’s lovely to see that Leo is still by Thompson’s side as she returns to competitive golf, having stepped away from full-time competition in late 2024. And it’s clear that he’s more than just a pet to Thompson – he’s a source of strength and inspiration. As she prepares to take on the best golfers in the world, Thompson knows she can count on Leo to be cheering her on every step of the way.
