He was known as “The Redhead” and played with the Yankees for five seasons. His home runs have amazed fans. But after bidding goodbye in 2024, he’s now chasing laughs thanks to a funny story he just put online that people love.
It’s one thing to look at fan replies. It’s another to actually rely to them. And Clint Frazier not only scrolled but replied when he got tagged with a question: “@clintfrazier do the players read twitter comments after the games?” What’s the funny part? A fan wanted their money back!
Clint Frazier replied and shared an incident from 2019 when the Yankees lost against the Red Sox. He wrote, “in 2019 i was sitting in my car in the chilis parking lot and a fan requested a very specific amount of money from me to pay them back for the red sox game i sucked in the outfield. if i can’t logon venmo, imagine twitter even if you don’t wanna read it, you will see it. you guys tweet some wilddddd stuff too so if you’re someone who can’t roll with the punches, it’ll be hard. i like to poke the bear so it was fun for me lmao.” Well, asking for a refund was funny!

Remember June 2nd of 2019? Frazier made a mistake on defense during a game against Boston. He misplayed a ball from Eduardo Nunez, missed another one while diving, and took a bad approach on a third. The Red Sox transformed those mistakes into big hits and won the game 8–5 at Yankee Stadium. And later, Frazier himself admitted, “I su—-.”
Now that he’s 30, no more playing, he’s holding court in the rumor mill. Recently, he joined in on the trade deadline talk and tweeted, “i’m still in the mock trades, i might finally get traded at the deadline this year.” This was a lighthearted jab at all the fake trades that fans made up that he was a part of.
Talking of his playful tweets. A few days ago, he said on X, “I need to be a broadcaster.” That unlocked the floodgates. One fan shot back, “McDonald’s is hiring; I’m sure they could use your skills lol ,” referring to his never-ending comments about working at a grill. That answer garnered around 2k likes right away. And Frazier went even further by publishing a Photoshopped picture of himself leaning out of a McDonald’s drive-thru.
His peculiar style of humor and honest tweets made him quite popular online. But his great play during those five years won him significant respect in pinstripes.
The Legacy of the Red-Haired Yankee
The Yankees dealt All-Star closer Andrew Miller to Cleveland in the middle of 2016 for Clint Frazier. And they named him their best prospect right away. Frazier made his debut on July 1, 2017, hitting both a double and a home run. A week later, he hit a walk-off home run that had fans excited straight away.

He showed that great mix of speed and power in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, he hit 12 home runs in 69 games, and in the abbreviated 2020 season, his OPS went over .900 as he hit .267/.394/.511. That mix of power and speed lived up to all the talk on the field.
He wasn’t just fireworks at the plate. Frazier became only the second Yankees player ever to hit nine extra-base hits in his first 15 major league games. He joined Joe DiMaggio for one of the wildest stat lines in franchise history. He helped start rallies with 12 thefts during his time in the Bronx, and he made some great plays in center and right field.
By 2021, he had earned the Opening Day left field job, but worries about concussions and inconsistent contact slowed his progress. When he left the Bronx in late 2021, his Yankees stats showed a .235 average with 29 home runs and 101 RBIs. He had glimpses of power, speed, and that swagger that made him so popular.
