Ex-NFL Star Lights Up Magic Johnson’s Tokyo Visit Ahead of Shohei Ohtani’s High-Stakes Series

Magic Johnson’s long-awaited dream finally became a reality when the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series. That marked the Dodgers’ second championship in five years. And the man who stole the show? Shohei Ohtani. Now, both Johnson and Ohtani are setting their sights on another big win—this time, in Tokyo.

But before diving into the high-stakes series, the two sports legends made sure to enjoy some downtime in style. Ohtani treated his Dodgers teammates to a special dinner in Tokyo, making sure they soaked in the culture before stepping onto the field. Meanwhile, Johnson and his wife, Cookie, joined former NFL star Rodney Peete for an extravagant birthday celebration at Wagyu Mafia, one of Tokyo’s most exclusive steakhouses.

Of course, Magic couldn’t keep the night to himself. He took to Instagram to share the moment, calling Tokyo an “unbelievable city,” and raving about the experience. “Cookie and I are in the unbelievable city Tokyo, Japan, and had the pleasure of celebrating our great friend Rodney Peete’s birthday at one of the best 101 steak houses in the world, Wagyu Mafia!” he wrote, giving fans a glimpse of the night’s festivities.

Then, he gave a deeper look into their Tokyo adventures. “We’ve had such an amazing time sightseeing, shopping, and exploring the city of Tokyo as we get ready to see my Dodgers play the Cubs!” he shared.

But that wasn’t all—he also made sure to shout out the restaurant’s exceptional service. “The customer service here has been absolutely amazing. Thank you to Chef Jiei and Owner Hisato Hamada for having us!”

So, now before the much-anticipated Tokyo series kicks off, it’s look how Magic Johnson celebrated his World Series win.

Magic Johnson soaks in Dodgers’ World Series win

It’s been a long time coming, but the wait was worth it. The Dodgers clinched their second World Series title in five years, and for the first time in 36 years, a championship parade was announced. The energy in L.A. was electric, with fans celebrating like never before. Even team owner Magic Johnson couldn’t hide his excitement, soaking in every moment of the historic win.

Thrilled by the victory, Magic snapped a celebratory selfie with his wife, Cookie Johnson, and took to X to share his joy. “WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!!! @Dodgers,” he wrote, letting the world know just how much this win meant.

Wearing a Dodgers cap, he later took center stage, joining the team for the championship trophy presentation—a moment that perfectly captured his love for the game.

But the road to victory wasn’t easy. The Yankees fought tooth and nail, nearly forcing a Game 6 with a late-game surge. Yet, Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers weren’t about to let it slip away. Despite New York’s best efforts, L.A. sealed the deal with a nail-biting 7-6 win, proving once again why they’re one of baseball’s most dominant teams.

Now, with the World Series celebrations behind them, all eyes are on Tokyo. The much-anticipated series kicked off at the Tokyo Dome, where the Dodgers are ready to face their next big challenge.
