US, August 1, 2025 — EssentiallySports is launching a Creator Program that brings journalists and athletes together to shape the next era of sports storytelling.
Reflecting EssentiallySports’ commitment to fan-first coverage and authentic stories. The Creator Program allows athletes and journalists to share their unique perspectives through event coverage, in-depth analysis, interactive polls, fan parlays, and personal commentary on trending topics. Creators will contribute across EssentiallySports’ newsletter network and website, offering fans insider access typically unavailable through traditional sports media.
In our opening slate, three-time WNBA champion Natasha Howard joined EssentiallySports as Athlete Correspondent for exclusive coverage of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend held July 18 in Indianapolis. Howard brought fans behind the scenes with candid interviews, match-day updates, and personal takes through the “She Got Game” newsletter and on-site features. She did a day in the life of an All-Star Vlog, and wrote this story on her journey for ES.
“I’m thrilled to partner with EssentiallySports; they truly get what WNBA fans want: real, behind-the-scenes access,” said Natasha Howard. “They’re committed to elevating women’s basketball, and I’m excited to go beyond just highlights and stats. As their Athlete Correspondent, I’ll be sharing my perspective, stories, and experiences in a way that helps fans feel even more connected to the game and the players they love.”
“We’re creating new ways for fans to experience sports through the voices of the athletes themselves,” said Harit Pathak, Co-Founder at EssentiallySports.
On the heels of this launch, NASCAR legend Mark Martin is joining our Athlete Editorial Program. Martin will be writing regularly, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, offering exclusive commentary, and even dropping exclusive excerpts from his upcoming book. The 40-time Cup Series winner brings decades of racing experience that fans have never had access to before.
“I’m excited to join EssentiallySports’ Athlete Creator Program. It’s a chance to collaborate on all things NASCAR, bring fans behind the scenes, and share a few untold stories along the way,” said Martin.
The Creator Program emphasizes interactive content designed to build stronger connections between athletes, journalists, and fans. Creators will host live polls, participate in fan Q&A sessions, and provide commentary on trending sports topics in real-time.
EssentiallySports plans to expand the Creator Program throughout 2025, adding athletes and journalists across multiple sports verticals. The company will announce additional program participants and content initiatives in the coming months.
The Creator Program represents the next evolution of EssentiallySports’ mission to serve underserved sports fans with content that goes beyond traditional headlines and game recaps. By bringing athletes and journalists directly to fans through owned media channels, the platform continues to build deeper connections within sports communities.
