ESPN Exposes Giants & Joe Schoen’s Big Lie as Bombshell Report Confirms Secret Shedeur Sanders Obsession

5 min read

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll face a stern test this upcoming season. There is no room for error, and each action must be executed with utmost clarity and purpose. For starters, last season’s performance, where they finished 3-14, certainly was appalling. However, the decision to let go of Saquon Barkley, who went on to win the Super Bowl with a fellow NFC East team, was a historic blunder. They put all their stocks in the QB basket, and boy, did it fail! Daniel Jones couldn’t produce to save his life, and the Giants had to let go of their QB1 even before the season ended. In that sense, the draft class of the 2025 season becomes crucial.

The Giants have the number 3 pick in the draft. That almost guarantees they will take one of Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. But mostly Shedeur Sanders since Cam Ward is looking more heavily to go to the Titans. However, Joe Schoen didn’t wait for the draft and signed two major veteran QBs. Those are Russell Wilson at a $10.5 million single-year deal and Jameis Winston on a two-year $8 million deal. The GM even hinted at ‘concluded business’ for the Giants’ QB room.

Joe Schoen, at his pre-draft press briefing, dropped a potential bombshell for Shedeur Sanders. “With the signing of those two players, I think we put ourselves in a position where I don’t think it’s mandatory or something with our feet to the fire that we have to do.” The GM then hinted at a completed and upgraded QB room. “I think the two guys we signed have played a lot of ball. They’ve got a lot of skins on the wall. I do think we’ve upgraded that room compared to where it was a year ago“. This is where things get interesting.

The signing of both QBs appears to signal the conclusion of the Giants’ quest for a QB. Given that both QBs are veterans with a proven track record, their signing appears to be a definitive step forward. Jameis Winston produced 2,121 passing yards last year with the New Orleans Saints, although his performances have declined recently. Then there is Russell Wilson, who has amassed more than 45,000 yards in his illustrious career and will come with a ton of experience. Despite the addition of these two QBs and Schoen’s assurances about not signing another QB, things are looking quite the opposite.

Adam Schefter, talking on ‘NFL on ESPN,’ revealed how aggressively the Giants are pursuing Shedeur Sanders and even other QBs like Tyler Shough and Jalen Milroe. “This organization (The Giants) has practically lived in Boulder, Colorado. They could take a residency there for all we know, and they have all the information.” The prominent journalist then provided other QBs that the franchise is taking a look at. “They’re doing a private workout in Alabama tomorrow with Jalen Milroe. They’re doing a private workout on Saturday in Louisville with Tyler Shough. So they are going through it with all these quarterbacks.”

These statements provide a contrasting picture of Joe Schoen’s words of “not looking for another QB.” Could this be another instance where the franchise is trying to sandbag the public? Yes and no. However, the Giants may still need a quarterback in the long run since both Winston and Wilson are in the last years of their careers. Still, this raises an important question: What exactly is the stance of the franchise here? Is the franchise planning to select a new QB in the draft?

Private workout with Shedeur Sanders raises questions

Well, if a recent report is to be believed, then the franchise is too ‘keen’ to rope in Shedeur Sanders. They have organized a private workout with the QB. And for this, the front office, including head coach Brian Daboll, is flying all the way to Colorado today before the NFL draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, rolls in on April 24th. But many would point out that the franchise is organizing workouts with other QBs like Tyler Shough, too, so what’s special about this one?

Well, Adam Schefter provided insight into a similar question and provided how Shedeur Sanders has become a top priority for the Giants. “There’s not a quarterback that they spent any more time on this season than Shedeur Sanders.” Moreover, Todd McShay echoed similar thoughts, speaking to USA Today. “It’s interesting, because I was kind of at the point where I was feeling like I could basically close the door on the Giants taking a quarterback, specifically Shedeur, at number three.”

The first two positions are almost set, with Cam Ward joining the Titans and the two-way star Travis Hunter joining the Cleveland Browns. It would be almost certain that the Giants would get Shedeur with their third pick if they wanted to. But their ever-changing stance on their QB needs is a paradox in itself. Could we finally see Shedeur Sanders coming to the NY Giants?
