He explained, saying, “Stanford’s recruiting pool is, by definition, smaller… Some great players won’t even be admitted, so they’re off the board before recruiting starts.” To be honest, with Reich only in place for a year and strict admissions limiting their options, Stanford’s recruiting battle just got tougher. Right now, as Stanford’s interim HC, Reich brings a deep well of NFL experience. Well, he played 14 seasons as a QB, mostly with the Buffalo Bills, before transitioning to coaching. On top of that, Reich led the Colts from 2018 to 2022 and had a brief stint with the Panthers in 2023. Most notably, he masterminded the Eagles’ offense in their Super Bowl LII victory.
