Emotional Brock Nelson Makes Raw Confession Amid Islanders Coach’s Crytpic Update on Trade Rumors

2 min read

Not long ago, people were talking about how the New York Islanders are losing five out of seven games, so they need to trade players and stuff. Three days left to the NHL trade deadlines, and Brock Nelson has gifted the Islanders franchise his, probably, last victory of the season. The Islanders won a 3-2 game against the Winnipeg Jets on Long Island, and Kyle Palmieri, Brock Nelson, and Ryan Pulock were the goal-scorers for the Islanders.

But as the trade talks have encircled 33-year-old Brock Nelson and it seems like the center is about to pack his bags. When he was asked about the trade and the latest win, Nelson got emotional. NHL reporter Andrew Gross reported, “Brock Nelson admits there were some emotions for him tonight, but he really was just trying to concentrate on hockey. Said he’s had conversations with Lou Lamoriello but insists he’s not sure what will happen in the next three days.”

The New York Islanders’ head coach Patrick Roy also shared his heartfelt but practical message as Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri both have hit free agency this year. Roy said, “They love this organization. Brock’s been here from the start. He did a lot for this franchise. I’m sure it’s a moment that they do not control, but at the same time, it’s a business, isn’t it?”

Nelson had signed a six-year $36,000,000 contract with the Islanders. This is his last year with the franchise. Since his first year in the league in 2012, Brock Nelson has been associated with the New York Islanders.
