The entire crowd at the Kaseya Center boomed with chants for the USA as the 2-time POTUS, Donald Trump, entered the arena to witness the battles at UFC 314. Even though Trump is one of Dana White’s closest friends, accommodating the President of the United States at the arenas does seem like a Herculean task, don’t you agree? To get things done smoothly, the UFC officials must be required to heighten the security in the vicinity. And that’s just one aspect of getting the POTUS in the show. But Trump has attended quite a few UFC events in the past. Does this mean White has found the secret to accommodating Trump without any challenges?
During the post-fight press conference for UFC 314, a reporter pointed out that Trump attended the event along with a few members of his cabinet. The reporter asked if the UFC head honcho found it challenging to accommodate the President of the United States, given that the situation is now different from what they were in the past two years. Well, Trump was now the POTUS, and he was an ex-President in his appearances in 2024 and 2023. White admitted, “Well, when he first started coming it made it challenging because we had never done it.”
But now, things were different for the UFC as well. And the reason? It’s the amazing collaboration between White’s team and the law enforcement. The UFC CEO continued, “Now, it’s a piece of cake. We work well together with Secret Service and law enforcement. And it goes pretty smooth. Other than some roads being shut down and people trying to get here. But other than that, it’s been very smooth. They’re easy to work with. And you know, he’s such a huge fight fan. He loves coming to the fight. So, it’s fun. I like it when he comes.”

It’s true that Donald Trump was one of the reasons why White could ensure the success of UFC. Well, he did let the UFC officials use his Atlantic City casino as a venue back when the mixed martial arts promotion was yet to be a sanctioned fighting sport. Ever since then, it has been known as a fact that Trump is an avid fight fan. But what did the POTUS have to say about the fights at UFC 314? What did he think of Alexander Volkanovski claiming the win over Diego Lopes in the main event? Let’s find out!
What did Donald Trump have to say about Dana White’s UFC 314?
On the night of the fight, before the action in the main card commenced, Trump had a brief interaction with the media at Air Force One. And during that interaction, the POTUS made a massive revelation regarding the true winner of UFC 314. He said, “You know who’s going to win? Dana White. Dana White’s gonna win.” Well, White did earn about $11.5 million in gates. But what about Volkanovski, Pimblett, and the others? Did they manage to entertain the American President?
After the fight, the media interviewed Trump once again as he got ready to step onto Air Force One. He let the world know what he truly felt about the event when asked about his opinion on ‘The Great’ winning the bout against Lopes via a unanimous decision. Trump replied, “I thought it was great. I thought they were all great fights. Have you ever witnessed that before? It’s something, right? Those are seriously tough people… I did, I thought he won Volkanovski… Every one of them [the fighters] came up at the end, they were all great, they’re all warriors, modern day warriors.”
And he was true to the bones. The action that the fighters showcased at UFC 314 deserved nothing but the appreciation that they received. And Trump’s feelings definitely aligned with that, along with many other fight fans. What are your thoughts on Trump watching the fights live at UFC 314?
