“We’re all playing well enough where we can get it done,” said Dustin Johnson after his impressive 8-under-par 63 at LIV Golf Singapore presented by Aramco. He delivered a bogey-free opening round, taking a three-shot lead over the field with his best single-round LIV Golf performance in 109 starts. Johnson’s 4Aces team seized the top spot in the team standings by two strokes, seeking their first win since 2023.

Johnson rebounded strongly from his struggles with a back issue in Hong Kong, where he finished last for the first time at a LIV Golf tournament. Johnson dominated at Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course, hitting 16 greens and missing just three fairways. He also sank a near 60-footer for birdie on the par-3 14th. With his sights set on a fourth individual title, the golfer aims to become the first player to win in all four LIV Golf seasons. After shutting down critics with 4 Aces, Johnson has now opened up about the unwanted situation he faced at LIV Golf Hong Kong.

Speaking at the LIV Golf Singapore press conference, Johnson addressed concerns about his injury in the rib or shoulder, revealing that he’s feeling no lingering effects. “No, body feels good,” he said with a reassuring gesture. He has clearly put his physical woes behind him, swinging with precision and power. “Feel like I’m swinging well, moving through the ball nicely. Hitting a lot of really quality golf shots,” he added, highlighting his impressive form.

Johnson reflected on his experience in Hong Kong, where an unexpected injury threw him off his game. “I was kind of leading into Hong Kong, too, and then it was just an unfortunate situation there because I didn’t really do anything to injure myself,” he explained. Johnson took the setback in stride, chalking it up to a minor mishap. “I think I slept funny. It happens,” he said.

Thankfully, Dustin Johnson has bounced back, exuding confidence in his swing as he looks forward to the next round. With his game back on track, Johnson is set to make a strong run for the title.

Dustin Johnson eyes $4 million bonus after bouncing Back to form

Dustin Johnson has put his frustrating start to the 2025 LIV Golf season behind him, bouncing back to form in stunning fashion. After finishing rock-bottom in Hong Kong, he has rediscovered his swing, carding an eight-under-par 63 and a three-under 68 to tie for the lead in Singapore. “Yeah, obviously last year was probably a little bit frustrating, and then obviously it’s still early this year, but it seems like we’re all four playing pretty solid right now,” Johnson said, highlighting his team’s resurgence.

Johnson’s 4Aces franchise is now set to end a nearly two-year wait for a LIV Golf victory, sitting five shots clear in the team leaderboard. Johnson’s impressive turnaround has also put him in contention for his fourth individual title on the breakaway circuit, and a $4 million bonus. “Kind of the same that I’ve been doing. Obviously most important is getting it in the fairway off the tee and from there figure out how I can get the best look at birdie,” Johnson said, outlining his strategy for the final round.

With his game back on track, Johnson is confident of securing a long-awaited victory for his team and himself. So, do you think he can win the tournament this time? Let us know in the comment section below!
