“I was just playing some FIFA, and then my phone started blowing up. I was like, huh, what?” Clearly, Drew Timme wasn’t expecting his NBA call-up in the slightest. Honestly, were you? After all, he did go undrafted in 2023. Why? Well, the NBA scouts were worried that he wasn’t physical enough, nor did he have a great 3-point shot.
However, no one questioned his work ethic and dedication to the game. And we can see that on display as he’s worked on his deficiencies. So, now that he’s finally in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets, let’s see what kind of deal they cooked up for the former Gonzaga great.
What is Drew Timme’s Salary for the 2024-25 Season?
Drew Timme is officially getting that NBA check, and while it might not be superstar money (yet), he’s in the league and making moves. For the 2024-25 season, Timme will earn a base salary of $113,055, which also matches his cap hit and dead cap value. Not bad for a guy who went undrafted in 2023 and had to grind his way up through the G League.
The Brooklyn Nets clearly see potential in him because they just locked him in on a multiyear deal. After all, he’s been tearing it up for their G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. He’s averaging 23.9 points and 10.3 rebounds over 29 games this season. Oh, and he also snagged the G League’s Player of the Week award for March 17-23. Talk about making a statement.

“I love March… I have a 50-point game in March, I get a call-up in March, my brother just got his first offer this morning. The month of March is doing good things for the Timme household,” Timme said with a grin. We can see that, Drew.
And speaking of that multiyear deal…
What is Drew Timme’s Contract with the Brooklyn Nets? When Does It End?
So, what exactly does Timme’s contract look like? He signed a two-year, $2,068,432 deal with the Brooklyn Nets. Out of that, only $113,055 is guaranteed for now, but if he keeps up his hot streak, the money is only going to get better. His average annual salary sits at $1,034,216, but here’s the fun part: in the 2025-26 season, he’s set to make a whopping $1.9 million. That’s quite the upgrade, huh?
The contract runs through the end of the 2025-26 season. Timme will become an unrestricted free agent after that. As a result, he’ll have the chance to secure an even bigger payday. Of course, that depends on whether he continues proving that he belongs in the NBA.
It’s been quite the journey for Timme. Just a couple of years ago, he was a dominant force for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Now, he’s on the biggest stage in basketball. However, he’s adjusting his game and making the most of his opportunity. But what did his time at Gonzaga really look like?
Which College Did Drew Timme Play For?
If you followed college ball in recent years, you probably know all about his time at Gonzaga. The Texas native was a top-50 recruit in the 2019 class. And he had offers from heavy-hitters like Texas A&M, Michigan State, Arizona, and Alabama. But he ended up going with Gonzaga, and honestly, it worked out pretty well.
As a freshman, he played a key role off the bench, shooting an absurd 61.8% from the field. Even Steph Curry only shot at a 46.3% clip in his first year as a college baller! By his sophomore year, he was already getting national recognition, landing on the Preseason All-WCC team and the Karl Malone Award watchlist.
But fast forward to the end of his college career, and Timme had racked up 2,307 points, the fourth in Gonzaga history. Oh, and he absolutely crushed it during March Madness, scoring 301 points over 13 NCAA tournament games. Did you know that’s the sixth-most in tourney history. Isn’t that impressive?
Of course, transitioning from college dominance to an NBA role is never going to be easy.“I touched the ball 20, 30 times a night at least at Gonzaga and played through the post… And here, you gotta be able to stretch the floor…It’s been clicking a little bit lately…But also just the space and the pace of it all. They’re not always gonna run a ball screen to look at me in the post. Maybe I just gotta play in the dunker more and get ready for a dump off from a guard. Playing off different actions or spacing out to the corner more. There’s a lot more things like that.”
Asked Drew Timme how he’s had to adjust his game to fit what NBA front offices are looking for:

Translation? The NBA game is way different, but he’s adjusting and finding his place. And honestly, it’s working.
Now he’s in the NBA, getting real minutes and proving any haters wrong. The Timme train is rolling ahead full steam. And if he keeps it up, we might be looking at a full-time NBA career for one of college basketball’s most entertaining players in recent memory. Keep an eye on this Drew Time cause he’s just getting started.
